I put in $100. Not necessarily saying they will use that full amount. Oh well! I will post up when/if I get that CD in the next year. Oh and I should look at craigslist for a cheap USB CD reader. We have long moved on from that in this househould

I don't use a computer much in the house, so I still have an older laptop with CD drive. Takes a bit to boot though. I checked the reference number I got with my letter. Says files related to my inquiry have been identified and awaiting assignment to GIS personnel. I'm assuming that's who will put the black bars all over the info. Unfortunately I got the Suitability Denial email last weekend after being in adjudication for two months. I have a FOIA request in but I doubt I'll get much out of it. My AC has been ignoring my emails so I doubt I'll get anything from her. It hurts to have been in this process for so long just to get denied at the end. But that's life, I just wish I knew what their reasoning was.

The date on the letter is 4/21/2021. Maybe a typo on the month?
Also, Godsfav, how exactly did you file for FOIA? Send an email? Write a letter, print it, notoraize your signature, then mail? On the bottom of the email it states, “ Please note, this decision does not constitute a denial of a security clearance.” So it’s really unclear and it’s a lot of “If” in the email. I received the same email and I’m being processed for another position with fbi. The other position is still being processed. Submitted for the paperwork and they still couldn’t tell me anything.

Just want to bump this. Anyone have an updates? My FOIA status still says awaiting assignment to a GIS. I know COVID probably created a backlog, but 6 months is a loooong time.
As mentioned, the denial email was very vague. It was clear that it wasn't a clearance denial, but unclear if it was job-specific or something that they just didn't like about my background. It also seemingly left the door open to apply for future employment.
Anyway, I applied to the 2022 CHI on 9/28. Just checked portal today to see that it was denied due to prescreening on 10/2. This isn't the pre-qualifying screening, but another that I'm assuming showed I was denied previously. I never received communication about that status change, so I guess they just have me on ignore. Bummer. |

Bummer. Hello, so I was actually able to get into the bureau, so I don’t know much about denials. However, don’t let the “denied due to prescreening,” concern you. Just keep applying. I have at least three applications with that notification and finally was able to get through my 4th time. I believe that there’s a system that will automatically deny you based on the answers provided in the questionnaire. Hiring managers might set a specific answer or bottom line, and if you don’t meet that, you get denied before your resume is ever looked at. Not completely sure how it works, but based on the email I received, that’s what it sounded like. As far as “application: under review,” don’t rely on that either. Everything I have ever applied for says under review except for ones I rejected or denied due to prescreening. I know about half of them I was denied for not meeting qualifications because I got an email from HR, but my account was not updated. Keep your head up. It’s a process and a long one.
