I put in my application today for OST. I will apply to the others even though they do not have any locations near me.

Nice seeing you here haha (I see you on the secret service page). That’s a good idea. What I did in the 2021 CHI is apply to everything I was eligible for. I have since passed background and am waiting on a call? I don’t even know anymore, lol. Haven’t had any contact recently. I also applied to the 2022 CHI in hopes of getting a position since I have already passed the background check. Good luck!

Good to see you too!

Did you have your SUPER interview there yet?

Btw, how’s the interview for the CHI process, standard STAR or harder?

Glad to see you passed everything already!

Hey guys! First time CHI applicant though I’ve applied to the Honors Internship previously. Anybody who has applied before: what’s the wait time hear about interviews, typically? I looked at last year’s forum but… federal soup marks posts that say “I have an interview tomorrow, 12-16” as 12 months ago when December is just definitely NOT 12 months ago. I also don’t know when the window closed last year, so I just don’t have a good gauge of what the timeline could look like.
I know this changes every year so last year isn’t necessarily representative of this one, but any indicators would be lovely (:

Ps: this is the best part! After tonight, none of us can do any more hands on nitpicking! This is also the worst part! After tonight, none of us can do ANYTHING hands on! However you choose to view it, best of luck!

I received an email a few days ago saying that I am eligible for my applied position based on my education history and that my application will be sent to the hiring managers. My status is updated on the website now to say I'm qualified for the role, but I'm not currently under review for any specific placement yet. That's the only notification I've received, though!

When did you submit your CHI-22 applications & for what positions? Looks like you are ahead in the process. I submitted on Sept 30 ( last day) and it still says “ Under Review “ for IT specialist. Never received any email.

I applied for the security specialist position and submitted my application and documents on 09/07, so I got it in fairly early. That may be a factor in why I got the notification so soon. Mine still says "Under Review" as well, the only thing that changed is my qualification status so far.

I applied for the security specialist position as well and got the same “qualified/eligible” email but only for that position, I applied for three others and heard nothing regarding them. It is encouraging to me that they have even sent that, though, I know in some prior years they went totally no contact with all applicants as far as the forums knew. Any contact from anybody to any of us is a good thing, even if it’s just “we pushed your app for one of these positions through the robot system and are moving it forward!”

@MI0

what did your qualified/eligible email look like? I applied 9/2 and never received an email besides for submission. On the FBI site, I can only see that my status was changed to "Under Review" on 10/2. I also applied to the security specialist position! It's very interesting to see how this process looks for everyone..

I applied pretty late stage, and received the email on 10/8. My portal status did not change, and in the portal the application for the security specialist position is also displayed under the “qualified for” portion. The email is generic, it says based on my education history I have been deemed eligible for the CHI Security Specialist position, based on this info they will send my application to hiring managers, and that if any managers like my application they’ll notify me. On the portal, under the information bubble, they specify that this does not mean that I’m more likely to get the job or anything, it just means that they (likely an algorithm or robot) read my resume and determined I had the qualifications necessary to be a viable candidate.
I’m not sure about anybody else, but I’m a recent college grad. It may be that it was so easy to get my info and verify it because I have an official end of college transcript and they don’t have to check in with registrars ETC like they would for folks who are applying as current final year or final semester students (???)

I feel like I heard that happen to someone a few years ago, maybe check in with your recruiter/if you have an AC- hopefully, they'll have an answer. Best of luck!

Longtime lurker of this site. Applied for CHI 2022. Just received an email that "based on your education education history" I have been found eligible. Also, when I login to my dashboard, under "Under Review For", a specific FO is listed with an option to Opt-Out. Does anyone else have this? Does this mean that specific FO might interview me?

Applied: 9/30/21

I received a similar email for OST a few days ago! I do not see a specific FO on my portal but that may be because yours has been forwarded to your FOs before mine.
thanks 1 user thanked Ramgrad02 for this useful post.

I did not get an email, but I do have the opt-out option does this mean I moved onto the next step?

I think everybody who gets the “minimally qualified for” stage should get an email. I cannot speak for others who are now “under review for” a field office, but I personally did not get an email confirming that when it popped up on the portal. All this means is that there is a confirmed real hiring manager who is looking into your application!!! Which is exciting.
If you didn’t get a “minimally qualified” email but are listed as “qualified for” on the site, maybe check to make sure you didn’t make a typo in your email address (or that FBI emails aren’t going to spam!)

I'm a new user with lots of questions, I'm thankful for all of you and your responses.

Will those who receive CJO be assigned to work in the Field Office itself or can they also be assigned to one of its satellite offices?
Also, Do hiring managers reach out for interviews in November or will this not be until December?
Everyone who received a "meets the qualifications" email, what is your major?

Hi, guys. Kinda new at this, as this is my first time applying with the Bureau. I have 4 different apps pending 3 with the same FO and 1 different FO all for the same position which is odd ? Has anybody had any movement or will we see anything soon? To give some insight on myself, i’m 23 with a bachelors in CJ and a recent grad with my masters in public administration. 3 years experience working at my local county’s district attorneys office and currently a new federal employee. Best of luck to many of y’all!

I’ve never applied for CHI before but have applied for the HIP 2x before. I recently graduated with a bachelors in criminal Justice and forensic psychology, and I have received emails stating that I’m minimally qualified for programs analyst, security specialist, and OST. I applied for one more job I’ve not heard back about.
I, like txhorns2124, have one job TWICE under “under review for” that just… lists the same job, same field office, and a number underneath that’s just one single digit off. It struck me as odd, so I’m glad to know I’m not alone.
AFAIK, last year some people got interviews in November (like one or two people in the forum) but mostly they got them in December. Things could change this year, the student hiring CONSTANTLY changes and we have to be prepared for the very real possibility of a government shutdown in Dec which could interfere with the process.
There are a lot of people in this forum, so odds are if somebody moves through (gets an interview or a rejection) we will find out!! In the mean time, it’s a lot of hurry up and wait it seems (which was the case with the HIP when I applied.
Best of luck, you guys!
