The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is an agency of the United States Department of Justice that serves as both a federal criminal investigative body and an internal intelligence agency. The FBI has investigative jurisdiction over violations of more than 200 categories of federal crime.
Headquartered in Washington, DC, the FBI has over 55 field offices located throughout the USA as well as smaller units throughout the world.

I received a date change on the portal at the end of July when my BI started. Since then, received a few emails and calls regarding additional information. Today I received another date change on two of my applications, one which hadn't been updated since I started it and going from "submitted" to "application on hold". Any idea what that means? I'm hoping to get a call here soon to explain it or to tell me that my application(s) are moving forward. Fingers crossed!

Congratulations! I don't understand this process, because I have had the "Security Component: Investigation in Progress" status for a few months now but never received the automated email about "An Extended Background Investigation".

Happy Thanksgiving! Did anyone receive an interview last year after having no offices shown under the Under Review For section? Just trying to figure out if I've been unofficially rejected as I received the qualified for email a month ago (applied end of Sept.) but have never seen anything under the review section (while others have seen quite a few units/offices listed). Thanks! (sending this on Thanksgiving since I know I'll forget to send it tomorrow lol)

That’s interesting. {whats ur current date on portal}? Because every time there was major development on my application, the portal date changed n received related email correspondence. Thats kept my motivation up, & anxious level down 🧘🏼♂️. My latest date change is Nov 18 at like 5am. That was the first date change since them starting my BI back in July.

Is anyone waiting for a final offer or in my position? My BI has been finished for a month, and I haven't had any interviews or updates. The email stated that my position was no longer available, so I had to create a location preference on my Approve for Hire profile.

I’m not sure when my BI was completed but two months ago HR informed me that a FO may have reached out to me for placement. That never happened though & my portal still says I’m in background.

1. They reached out to me through email.
2. If the position from your CJO is no longer available after you pass background, then you will be notified and will have to fill out the approved for hire profile to select your preferred locations. Your info will be sent to HR at those locations. If a position becomes available at one of your selected locations then HR will reach out to interview you.
3. Don't panic. You're not the only one still waiting, I'm right there with you. You will be contacted for interviews as positions become available.

I've had some back and forth calls with HR over the past few weeks regarding adjudication and the FJO. I was notified of adjudication over the phone but ultimately just got an email and notification on my portal with the actual written FJO. They didn't send it until they knew I was going to accept.
