Hi everyone, I have two questions about potentially transferring to another agency. I'm currently a term employee (not sure if that matters or not) interviewing for a permanent position. 1) Will I be able to negotiate how my leave balance accumulates? I assume so since I would theoretically be able to negotiate the step increase. 2) If I am only in my agency for 1.5 years, will I lose the Agency match to the TSP, or will that be lost as I have not been with the same agency for 3 years?

1. You can negotiate whatever you want to; whether or not you will be successful is another matter. 2. This should not be an issue, but is something worth keeping an eye on when you get to the new agency. Be sure to print out your SF-50 before you leave and get a copy of whatever documentation (SF-75? not sure) your current HR prepares for the new agency's HR. |

I transferred agencies within my first year of federal employment and did not lose TSP vesting, so I also don't think there will be any issue. Feel free to call the TSP if you want additional reassurance, their customer service is very good.
