The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 230,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. [Their] duties are wide-ranging, but [their] goal is clear: keeping America safe. (source: www.dhs.gov)

I have so many questions about this position, and was hoping someone with recent experience (I'm sure it's way different now in the covid era) could share what's it's like. My main questions are:

1) how often do you travel? How long do you stay at one post?

2) what do you do when you're stateside? What kind of work are you assigned?

3) what countries are you commonly sent to? Is there an established circuit of offices? Like the international offices listed on USCIS's website?

4) what did you do for housing in the states? Did you sublet your apartment? Rent out your house? Live in an rv? Crash on a friend's couch?

Answers to any of these, or any other details you feel are relevant would be greatly appreciated.

2. You are assigned remote work. Run system checks and process applications you conducted overseas.

3. Many different countries. Ex. Turkey Jordan Qatar ….African countries

4. You will be away from home for six weeks at a time. Up to you what you wanna do
