The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 230,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. [Their] duties are wide-ranging, but [their] goal is clear: keeping America safe. (source: www.dhs.gov)

Congrats.

What is the minimum required standard for the APAT during the application process?

Also, when are you taking it?

What is the minimum required standard for the APAT during the application process?

1) Push-ups (Minimum number of push-ups required to acquire points is 15.)
2) Sit-ups (Minimum number of sit-ups required to acquire points is 23.)
3) Illinois Agility Run (Minimum time required to acquire points is 23.88 seconds.)
4) 1.5 Mile Run (Minimum time required to acquire points is 19 minutes, 40 seconds.)

I took the test on the 22nd of April. I also failed the 1.5 mile. I was told there is a 60 dy waiting period before one is able to retest.

Thank you for the clarification. I will suggest you train hard, run a lot and pass it with a significant improvement the second time. The PT gets significantly harder during the academy according to the posted online standards.

So they told you 60 days? I thought it was 6 months. Hope it’s 60 days! That good news cause mine is Saturday and I’m also worried about it. Do they email in 60 days or what?

Just so you all have some idea on process times:

Jan 4- Applied
Feb 8- Selected to move forward
Feb 14- Passed SAEE
March 1- SUPER interview (They scheduled it for Feb 22, but I was out of town that day and had to delay it)
March 24- Conditional Offer of Employment (Request to Submit Eye Exam paperwork, and extra security information)
March 29- Request to Submit e-QIP
April 6- e-QIP Submitted
April 12: Security Interview was scheduled, but I emailed them on the 9th and withdrew from the process.

I was incredibly pleased with how quick it was all going, and how polite everyone was. It was incredibly fast. However, after speaking with other agent friends (even those in the USSS), I don't know if I'm prepared for the work/life balance (or lack thereof) that the Service provides. So I decided to withdraw. I withdrew before the update where they require you to do the PFT in the middle of all of this.

"What is the minimum points wise?"

I believe it is a pass or fail. Unfortunately, they did not disclose anymore information other than that.

Yes, I received an email stated I can retake the APAT in 60 days. How did you do?

Unfortunately, it has not been 60 days yet. However, I did notice that they updated their website to include the APAT requirements.

I’ve recently just started the process as well,

I applied on
05/01/22

SAEE
06/27/22

SAEE passed
06/27/22

APAT
07/13/22

Is the APAT anything to be worried about ? I’ve had a physically active background since high school

Gotta get 20 points and no zeroes. Make sure you do your pushups and sit ups the way they are outlined in the brochure or they will not count them. https://www.secretservic...rochure_Print%20safe.pdf

Oh Okay.!

You should be good because when you fail they notify you relatively quickly.

Are you applying for SA or UD?

Yeah they are notorious for that. Hopefully you'll get a second chance.
