I joined my new Agency 3 Sep.
I have yet to get my leave transferred and it's making taking days off a pain in the @$$, especially when we have to put in our holiday leave ASAP.

How long does it usually take for leave to transfer? Who needs a kick in the rear to get things moving faster? My old agency or new agency? Or is there a third party involved behind the scenes?

Thanks in advance.

Mine transferred immediately. Have your last LES from your previous agency in hand, and go talk to payroll.

Shouldn't take any longer than a pay period. Most of mine transferred when I realized I was missing about a hundred hours, they fixed it in about a week.

Agree with the others. Take your last LES with your accrued leave on it to HR and tell them you think it was overlooked and ask if they can check the status. Keep a copy for your records in case you don't get any resolution.

Nothing happens fast in the government, but this should have rolled over in one to two pay periods.

I joined my current agency the same day as you and my first LES also showed zero leave balance. HR assured me that delayed transfers are fairly common and that my balance should reappear within a few pay periods. It hasn't shown up yet, and if it's not on the next one I'll be calling back.

I have been with 7 agencies. Some transfers are quicker than others. Some took a month. I kept my second to last LES and my last LES so I could show my new agency I had leave coming.

I transferred from my old agency a few months back & I was expecting to have issues with my leave, but surprisingly I didn't. But I did have issues with my TSP loan repayment not transferring over. That took at least 2 1/2 - 3 months. That was a major pain in having to mail out a check every pay period so I wouldn't fall behind.
Oh, and my dental & vision insurance didn't transfer over (but health insurance did), which was really odd.

It's interesting to see what slips through the cracks when you switch agencies. When I called about my dental & vision the customer service rep said I actually caught it early. Some people go months without realizing it didn't transfer over.
