its different for everyone. I got the call Friday, by Monday and Tuesday, I had all the documents and onboarding submission and benefits
That's pretty much it until the training department contacts to finalize everything, per my HR personnel.

Then talked to Benefits about how things will go down.

I didn't but I just received some paperwork from HR. Some of them must be putting in some weekend hours.

Hello, new to this post and applied March 2017 for the Dea Diversion position....what is the average age of the people in the classes for this position? I'm 48 and curious if all age groups are in these classes?

All age groups are represented. Your class could have people between the ages of 22/23 up to 65+. Recent college grads to retired LEO's starting a second career. Former stay at home parents re-entering the work force. The classes range in age, background and job experiences. We've had lawyers, teachers, sandwich shop managers, para-legals, retired/former military, business owners, folks from other federal agencies. People with degrees in criminal justice, math, biology, business, aviation, nursing, engineering, language etc. We've had people with PhDs, JDs, MAs, MSs, MBAs, BAs, BSs. We've had some with only 2 year degrees and some with high school only. We've had people who speak multiple languages and those who speak English only. We've had people with advanced degrees fail yet had folks with the HS diploma and the 2 year degrees pass. Your class could be and probably will be very diverse.

Hello all, this is my first time posting in here. I am scheduled to be in the class starting on the 30th. Did anyone else in this class receive anything about travel yet? Or know when we will receive info about flights to the academy?

I was actually wondering the same thing. My only guess is that they are still selecting people and want to send training info all together once they have a complete list. I may be wrong but it makes the most sense in my opinion. If anyone knows different, please advise!!

I was just checking in at the end of the week to see if anyone has heard from training yet on travel and other pre-Academy matters. I assume not because there's been no posts since the ones saying there's been no word so far. I'd think we'd be hearing something next week. It's getting to be crunch time.

60 Minutes aired a piece tonight on the opioid crisis and the DEA's diversion program. Kind of depressing.

Yikes! I doubt we'll be involved in that level of policy--but that's pretty alarming.

Interesting read thanks for posting. I am very surprised that DEA lawyers are able to jump from DOJ to pharma so fast instead of having a wait period. To go from manning 600 to none had to be humiliating. Essentially if u cant go after the head to effectively stop distribution then your job is reduced to only doing busy work. Interesting.

On another note still no news for me. With class starting so soon I'm just trying to focus on other things.

This is more a question for established investigators: what happens if you start experiencing hearing loss? I passed the hearing exam this time, but wonder what will happen if my hearing begins to fade, say ten years down the road.
