*** No, I only had a public trust (high risk). I had a secret done when I was overseas but that was back in 2010.

Very disappointing not to be in this class, esp. given all is complete.... The lack of communication is definitely an issue. Administration needs to change this aspect.

I understand your frustrations. This process doesn't seem to have a rationale. I hate feeling like a door is KIND OF open with them. But despite that I wont allow this process to slow down my desire to exceed. DEA is on the back burner until I'm contacted, in the mean time I'll continue to apply for and push for positions that enhance my federal career and if/when Im contacted, I'll evaluate the best move for my family and I. And that is my suggestion for everyone still waiting. Dont sit idle in your waiting.

Gear,

Do you know how long the adjudication process take with DEA? Just wondering.

Has anyone from the upcoming class received information from the Training division yet? I am anxiously awaiting the packing list, etc.

No word yet on training. I remember in previous classes people started a group chat or some form of external communication. Has anyone started anything for this upcoming class?

I'm guessing you're an early 2017 applicant? If so, how long do you estimate that it took between the interview and receiving notice that they were moving forward with you? Congrats on next steps!

I have my interview this Friday, super nervous but looking forward to the possibility of moving on to the next stage!

Through looking at these forum pages I am in for the long haul. Expecting a year or two. However, I MAY have gotten my clearance and a final offer incoming from ATF for their IOI position. So...not sure what will happen next. I will grab whichever I can.

I recently completed the drug test and the medical screenings also. I interviewed in Nov 17 and received the tentative offer in Jan 18. The onboarding process started immediately after that. Seems like it varies for everyone though. Good luck in your interview.

Congrats and good luck to those who have been selected to attend Basic Diversion Training Class #50 (BDI-50 or DI-50). You guys are the "golden" class.

No as in it's the 50th class. Like the 25th anniversary is the silver anniversary and the 50th anniversary is the golden anniversary. DI50 is the golden class.

Gear,

Just wondering after the background, what’s next? What’s the length of the Adjudication process? Does DEA normally give out the preference sheet?

Congrats to all those who will be going to TC#50!

Gear, is the July class still tentative or are they looking at it being a bit more firm now?

Cassandra3,

Sorry for taking so long to respond. The July class is still tentative but they are working to firm things up.

To all traveling to Quantico this weekend - travel safe. I wish you all the best of luck at the Academy. Remember its only 12 weeks. You can do it. Everyone on the training staff is there to help you make it through. No one wants any of you to fail. Keep your head in the game and you'll do fine. Don't sweat the small stuff. Keep in mind that no matter what, it's the DEA way. It may seem silly or nutty but its the DEA way and you're not going to change how they do things there. Its only 12 weeks! Don't make it any harder than it is. Just go with the flow. Complaining and griping doesn't help and only makes things worse. You all asked to join and nobody forced you. You are DI-50! Forty-nine classes have gone before you and survived (more than 49 but back then it was called BNDD). DEA didn't listen to their gripes and complaints so don't expect them to listen to yours either. They have what they feel is a proven method of doing things and training. They're not going to change just for you. Just go with it. Work together. Cooperate and Graduate!!! ITS ONLY 12 WEEKS!!! Once the Academy is behind you you'll be saying "that wasn't so bad." Its the gateway to a great career. I don't think you'll regret your decision to join us. Hang tough and focus. You'll all make it if you work together.

Good luck and travel safe. Looking forward to see the whole class graduate. Welcome to the family!
