Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is an independent agency of the United States federal government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of retirement, disability, and survivors' benefits. To qualify for these benefits, most American workers pay Social Security taxes on their earnings; future benefits are based on the employees' contributions. (Source: Wikipedia)

I am a current SSA employee and have been trying to relocate to a different field office. I have submitted my request through the 4100 internal vacancies twice in the last two years. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with how often the agency actually does move an employee to a different field office out of this vacancy.

good question as I would like to know too.

Probably has something to do with budget and considering one was finally passed, maybe transfers are more likely now.

I do remember seeing an email at the end of 2017 about reapplying to the 4100 position listing because of some new format or something.

I had a 4100 submitted for about 9 months before leaving for another agency. Nobody contacted me. I wouldn't count on it.
