I haven’t heard a thing about my background investigation... I did email HR about a month ago to inquire and was told I’m still in the background phase.

Feb 2017 applicant here.
Interviewed in Feb 2018 and still waiting on results. Reached out to HR and was told that my “package is at HQ being reviewed”. Hoping to hear something soon and trying to be patient!

February 2017 Applicant. Just got my letter stating I have been selected to move forward in the hiring process. In order to continue the DEA’s "accelerated pre-employment checks for an interim clearance", it is necessary for the DEA to contact my references.

They only gave me a 24-hr turn around. Ouch. I did submit E-qip and some medical documentation that they were asking for. Anyone else get this? It said on the form to provide 5 years worth of employer contact info with no space to submit that much info. I just hand wrote it on the form and scanned it. O.o

Zenryo:

Did an actual letter come in the mail or was it an email ?

I completed my panel interview in February, what about you ?

No, but I am in the final stage awaiting selection for an ATF position requiring a TS clearance. All indications point to me being successfully adjudicated and awaiting selection for the academy. Had my EQIP, BG done and when asked the program manager for the position told me if I HAD not been successfully adjudicated I WOULD have received a letter stating such. I take that for what it's worth. That being said nothing says DEA will use my ATF BG file to expedite anything. I am betting on the long haul with no interim and no reciprocity.

I long ago stopped trying to figure out this DEA DI hiring process out. With that being said, it is interesting that both 2017 (you) and 2016 (Florida Man)applicants received the same email. The wording is very positive for you guys in the fact that they said "accelerated hiring process" and mentioned an interim clearance when the next class isn't until September. Also, giving you only 24 hours to respond has to mean that they are trying to get something done soon. Good luck to you both and please keep us informed with what you hear.

Thank you. I usually maintain a healthy bit of skepticism but there is always hope. I will continue to keep the forum abreast of any developments.

Im also a Nov 2016 applicant. I did the complete background investigation with an investigator- finished it last week (I hope it's completed anyway) and got the accelerated email yesterday as well, requesting references and employment, with a 24 hour turn-around. Was a little confused about that when I already did the full background.......maybe it helps get it adjudicated faster..?
