Called my recruiter in early/mid Feb and they said that they were still reviewing the forms, blah blah, it can take up to 3 months. Tempted to follow up this afternoon. Did you get a call or an email, YoungD?

Just a question based on timelines here, but it looks like people get the polygraph/psych before and/or right after the BI starts/finishes. Is that normal? I thought they used a lot of the BI questions/answers on the poly. No problem if that can't be answered, just curious!

They do read your SF86, but I don’t know if they use your Report of Investigation. I know other, certain, IC agencies will not even do your credit check until you pass poly/psych.

I've heard this wait taking up to four years

Im actually kind of curious about that too LDomino! I filled out my sf-86 forms back in December 2018. These past 2 days i have taken my poly and psychological exams, assuming that my BI has already been done. Ive seen/heard that they don’t do the poly/psych exams until after the BI is done, but now im not sure. When i was there on Tues, a lady came into the welcome center room, stating that people that were here for the exams were in a weird time frame, and that the BI and exams take anywhere from 6-9 months. I dont think anyone can say whether a BI has started though, due to privacy act laws.

Only things I've learned from everyone in this forum is that there doesn't seem to be any standard process for how this all works or discernable rules for why some folks wait weeks between steps and others wait years. Some do the poly first, some submit security forms before CJO, others do it a year later. All you really know is that we all have no real clue where we are in the process at any given time.

I submitted my SF86 at the end of December. Had my credit pulled at the January. Just reached out for an update, and my recruiter told me that security has sent the forms to them for me to be scheduled for a Poly, but there are no slots available yet and I have to wait til there are. Edit; asked my recruiter if they expect slots to come available in the next few weeks, or next few months. She said it can take a few months..... Crapola. Here is another timeline to compare- 09/18- Applied 11/18- Operational Interview 11/18- CJO/SF-86 Submitted 12/18- Reached out for additional information from Security 1/19- Credit Pulled 02/19- Poly/Psych I have not been contacted by a background investigator nor have my references been contacted. Which seems to be completed for other applicants before their psych/poly. Edited by user Thursday, May 9, 2019 6:44:41 AM(UTC)

I have not been contacted by a background investigator nor have my references been contact to my knowledge. Which seems to be completed for other applicants before their psych/poly. It appears there has been movement for recent applicants but in no specific timeframe or order in the process. Yeah thats crazy, we have the exact same timeline minus the poly... I am still waiting for my poly and it looks like it wont be until May at the earliest.

I submitted my SF86 in the middle of last year, and still have not even been scheduled for a poly or even know if the BI has started. No one responds to me either. About to give up.
