He deleted his account a few months ago. Idk if he made another account, though.

I used to work for a contractor doing some NSA stuff. Two tries seems to be the most common, some get through in one. Three is not terribly unusual. That's for contractors, don't know if it is different for direct hire.

I've heard other places may have a two-strikes-and-you're-out policy. CBP and FBI might even have a one-strike rule.

She seems to have gone MIA after being put on the spotlight for her salty attitude towards other applicants that went through their processing faster than she did. It's been a few months since then.

Just waiting now for my Poly & psych exam dates, but not sure if my BI has even started yet.

So, just an update. Finally had my poly and psychological/assessment exams. I failed the poly (or it came back inconclusive), which i don’t understand. I haven’t heard anything regarding my psych exam, so I’m guessing no news is good news, but feel really upset about the poly and not sure why i failed. I go back the 2nd of April to take a 2nd poly, so i guess that’s something positive. Still trying to stay positive though, and hoping the first poly doesn’t ruin my chances.

Don't feel bad for failing the poly. The good news, it's not what determines the hiring process. It's about the whole person concept. Stick to your truth. Sending you good wishes!

It is quite common for NSA applicants to initially be told that they are "having problems" with the polygraph and to be brought back for one or more "re-tests."

Thanks for the good wishes! Poly is coming up soon, and i have to go to the dr’s next week to fill out a form for my psych examiner. Hopefully the process won’t be too much longer. So excited to start this opportunity.

Just hit day 420 since BI started.

I'd say "blaze it" but that would probably just make it take longer.

My 2019 Timeline is as follows...

8/2018 First contact with recruiter
9/2018 Took basic networking test in testing center
10/2018 phone interview with hiring manager
12/2018 conditional offer extended and accepted
1/2019 SF-86 submitted
3/2019 BI started and completed by late March
4/2019 Poly scheduled

I also recently received an email sating that I had been assigned to a new recruiter to take me through the rest of the process. Anyone else experienced this in the middle of the process?

What's everyone's thoughts on having general job position + minor bits of background information (foreign travel, contacts, etc) when we post timelines? Some of us wait years between these stages, others only waita few months; might be nice to get an idea of why.

Nov 2018- Applied
Dec 2018- First interview, OPI scheduled
Jan 2019- OPI in MD
Long period of waiting and no response
March 2019- emailed recruiter again, given new number for HR rep
A few weeks later in March 2019- called HR rep, left voicemail.
Following week in March 2019- another HR rep emailed me, I now have 2 POCs, recieved pre screen interview call and given notice a CJO will be extended to me within 2-3 weeks.

I’m assuming my timeline is better than some peoples due to me being a graduating college student in a high demand specialization.

Speaking of which, I’m graduating in May and I have loans/debt/bills to pay off and my current income is a slight step above minimum at a part time job.
Is it acceptable to take a second job while I endure the BI process? I have an offer/opportunity to make a decent amount of money with a company in my city, but I don’t know want to slow down my process or mess anything up. Can I also use this potential experience to negotiate a better FJO when the time comes? Obviously I would leave this job when I’m given a start date.
