Thanks a lot, go in there and handle business like I know you will. There will be moments in the BI process where it gets real quiet, but remain patient and encouraged.

Good attitude to have. I am sure you will be better prepared with a different outlook on how to approach the PFT this round. I am rooting for you.

I am fast approaching the point where I will meet the requirement of having two years of professional work experience. All of that work experience has been in intelligence analysis contracting work in DC and military reserve active duty orders. Regardless of not meeting the two year requirement I have applied to the SA position and other positions and have always been turned down. At this point I am hoping to at least get something more than a cursory glance. Do you guys think I will at least get that with the work experience I have listed?

Make sure your resume reflects how your experience encompasses the core competencies that the FBI are looking for.

It’s more about how you can sell yourself because even if you meet the minimum requirements, you’re going against people who likely have at minimum 5-10 years under their belts.

They count the 2 years work time up until you attend academy, at least thats what my AC said. I have over 2 years of experience, but I went back to college. After graduating later, I will have exactly 2 years post graduate in July after graduating so I applied early. However, iv already gotten past the Phases, PFT and accepted the Conditional Job offer, so it's not really about how much work experience you have as much as how you present yourself in your resume and also what your critical skill is.

I had applied for the SA position in early 2018 but wasn't ranked competitive enough to go on to phase 2. I passed the phase 1 test and the email says it will not expire under the current SASS, but does that only apply to the previous SA opening before they updated it? I'm trying to figure out if I will have to re-take the test when my year is up to reapply. Thanks in advance.

From what I was told, the Phase 1 pass will be on file already. They will be able to see the pass and you should move on from there. Contact your nearest Field Office for confirmation.

I did not have to retake the Phase 1 test when I reapplied after getting ranked not competitive enough my first time. Unless the policy has changed you shouldn't have to retake it either.

Did the Phase I test on the first Saturday in April. The testing center forgot to "check me out" when I left, so I had to email a bunch of people and get them to fix it. Luckily, it turns out I passed. So I'm currently waiting on the M&G invitation. It really seems like everything is moving fast compared to prior years.

I have a couple of questions for those who actually know stuff:

1. Does having prior extensive background checks help with the FBI background check? I'm a member of my state bar and they do a fairly extensive investigation before they let you practice law. I figured it probably doesn't help, but you never know!.

2. For cities with smaller FOs, can I expect to do the M&G there? Or do they have you travel to bigger FOs for that?

Thanks everyone.

Hi All - newbie here. I received an invitation for the M&G on 4/22 in the F.O. in Michigan. I noticed an excerpt at the bottom that stated there has been a change to the application process and that you're required to pass the PFT BEFORE moving on to Phase II and that this will discussed more in the M&G... Kind of concerned since I was hoping I would have more time to prep for that. Has anyone gone through passing the PFT prior to getting an invite to Phase II? Also, any advice on fitness tips? I try to go to the gym 3x a week to build my endurance and strength and do not take any supplements.

@St.Francis

I really hopes that not the case. I'm going to need as much time as possible to get my running times decent.

They're already having hiring issues. Not sure that making the process more difficult is going to help them fix that!
