Social Security Administration

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is an independent agency of the United States federal government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of retirement, disability, and survivors' benefits. To qualify for these benefits, most American workers pay Social Security taxes on their earnings; future benefits are based on the employees' contributions. (Source: Wikipedia)

Hello everyone, I want to ask if there are parking slots available around SSA Jamaica, NY. I just got hired there, do they give special employee discount or sticker for authorized vehicle? Thanks in advance!

There's nothing in the Addabo building. there are some public lots but expect to pay an arm and a leg. Also - not the safest area to have a nice car.

Thank you. I am asking because I saw the sign US govt vehicles only next to the building. It would take me 1h45 to take the subway but only 45m drive.

Congrats on your job offer. Do you mind sharing your timeline, I had an interview 3 weeks ago but I’m yet to hear something from HR. Thanks

Thank you very much. I applied for Benefit Authorizer position. This is my timeline:

02/19/2019: announcement closed
03/05/2019: received the call to schedule an interview
03/07/2019: interview, references were called 2,3 days later.
04/10/2019: tentative offer
04/11/2019: get my fingerprint
04/12/2019: HR called to inform my cleared background check, received official offer in my email
05/13/2019: first day onboard

The initial day was on 04/29 but I think there were not enough new employees for the 9 months training, so they moved it to 05/13. Just make sure at the end of your interview, ask them when you are expected to hear back or when the training start.

Yeah, that would be Government Owned Vehicles, not the POV of govt employees.
