I received my SF86 last November to update for two reasons. One, it had been a year since I'd initially filled it out, and two, because I was listed as a backup for a location for DI Class #52. So maybe?? Hoping for #53!!

Definitely hoping for 53! I'm a little worried since I switched jobs since the original SF86 (completed in August 2018), but hopefully that wont affect me moving forward with DI53.

DI 53 hopeful here to. I didn’t receive an SF86c today. I was told my candidate package had already been adjudicated but I’m unsure if that makes a difference in regards to receiving an 86c. Fingers crossed calls will begin next week!

Great news! Any chance they gave you a time frame for notifications? I’m hopeful that the previous timelines hold and we hear back within the next 2-3 weeks!

Yes! I had my ringer on max volume during yoga today, just in case. So inconsiderate to others in my class but I was willing to ask for forgiveness instead of miss the call. :-)

So will they actually call? I was assuming that we’d get an email like every other step of the process.
I’m getting super anxious too!!

You should get a phone call with your FOE. That's why its very important to keep your contact information (phone #; e-mail; address; etc.) up to date. If anything changes, IMMEDIATELY notify HR (by both phone and e-mail - make sure you get the person's name).

Perfect, thanks for the information! I can’t keep my phone on while at work, so if I miss the call will they leave a message? I’d be devastated if I missed out over something so small.

Thank you, GearUp! I had emailed and called my HR Recruiter in October with an updated phone number. Your message made me think twice, so I emailed the HRRD Assistant who sent the preference sheet. Sure enough, my number had not been updated, but has been now. Thank you!!

You're very welcome. The DEA, like any other government agency, is a bureaucracy made up of human beings. The folks at HR are good people and work hard to process everyone's application package. Lots of applications and lots of paperwork and moving parts. The vast majority of the time they get things right. But being human, they do sometimes make mistakes. That's why it's very important to keep them updated and if you do for some reason have to make contact or update information, get the person's name. Follow up with an e-mail to that person confirming the contact/update so you have a record of your contact.

I can't tell you, when I was a recruiter, the number of times I couldn't reach an applicant by phone or e-mail to schedule an interview because they moved or change phone numbers and failed to update their contact information.

I'm glad you were able to follow up and make the necessary changes. Good luck!
