We just went on Medicare this year and my wife had her first Dr. visit. Today we get a notice from Blue Cross that they won't pay their portion until we send them the Medicare EOB. Is that how this plan works? Will we have to do that for each medical charge going forward? I wasn't expecting that.

Here's how it is supposed to work if Medicare is now your primary insurance. The Drs. office sends the claim to Medicare and Medicare pays what they're gonna pay and Medicare forwards the claim to Blue Cross which pays the balance. You need to inform all of your medical providers that Medicare is now your primary insurance and Blue Cross is secondary. You also need to call Medicare and Blue cross and make sure they know who is primary and who is secondary and that they have each others billing info . The Blue Cross plan brochure has some information on coordinating benefits starting on page 147.
