I've been updating my resume in USAJOBS. I've saved each experience block as a text file so I could cut and paste into USAJOBS (as per the instructions), but every time I print the resume the formatting is garbage. I have manually inserted carriage returns. I have removed carriage returns. Still looks like garbage. What magic am I missing?

My advice...do NOT use the resume builder within USAJOBS. It's infamous for mis-formatting text. USCIS is now under a 5 page resume limit and USAJOBS resume builder has gotten many disqualified for just barely going over that limit. We were told by HR to use MS Word and convert to PDF. The resumes in USAJOBS looks like garbage anyway.

I would use USAjobs... best for people who review the resumes (like I did at my last job). Unless you make it look exactly like the USAJobs format... then go for it. The usajobs prints are clean and move the eye to the exact information needed.

Best way to "fix" it is to build in Microsoft Word, then copy and paste into notepad, and then move over to USAJobs.

I agree with the limit... mine is 4 pages... would not go above that. I have over a page of education/training/certs/awards though.
