And stressful it is lol. I still haven't received anything but I'll wait until Monday. They said they would get back to me this week and it's just been crickets. I still haven't put in my resignation and if I do, it'll be much less than two weeks. Yikes. A fed job is worth it, but at the same time, is the Monday before I'm supposed to start a normal time to receive reporting instructions? It doesn't look like I'll be receiving them today either. So I'm guessing Monday? I'm starting to freak out a little bit.

11/9: NOR received ("best qualified"/"top-rated").
11/15: Notified via e-mail a writing sample would be required.
11/20: Writing sample submitted via e-mail. Was given 30 minutes to complete. Response requested time slot for interview.
11/29: References contacted (references notified me).
11/30: Panel interview.
12/12: Tentative offer via e-mail.
12/19: e-QIP/SF-86 instructions received via e-mail.
12/20: e-QIP submitted.
01/15: OSI requested more information. Response submitted same day. Informed next contact would be grant of interim clearance and next step of background investigation via CSRA (interview).
01/25: Notified via e-mail of my choice between two EOD dates.

I'm happy to answer any questions.

I applied to CIS-DHA-10394920-ASY (Asylum) and chose Lyndhurst NJ. Today I got an email to schedule an interview. Anyone else get an email?

Could you tell us anything about the interview itself or is there an NDA?

Hey guys!

In February I was interviewed by my investigator for my background investigation for AO. I was wondering, anyone know how long (estimate) it takes to adjudicate a secret clearance for USCIS? They interviewed about 10 people from my SF-86 and for the past few weeks the trail has gone cold. It seems that the investigators stopped reaching out to people. I'm waiting for my secret clearance before I can EOD.

I got a few offers for an ISOA positions as well (interim while I wait for my clearance), but I hard to turn those down because USCIS told me I can only stick with one TO.

The background can take a few months depending on the adjuicators. Mine took about another month to be cleared once I had my BI interview.

I received my TO at the end of April. I did the drug test and that's about it. It's been about 2 weeks since I heard anything and haven't been contacted for the background investigation or anything else. I currently work for DHS, so maybe everything is transferring over in terms of my background paperwork? Either way, it feels strange to sort of just be waiting and not know what date I'm due to start or how long the background check takes etc... My interview process involved a writing sample during the interview, which has been different from what I've read on other people's experience. Either way, I have no idea when I'll be contacted by OSI or what my potential EOD will be..

Back in late May, I applied for an Asylum Officer position in Texas (CIS-DHA-10481982-ZHO | multiple vacancies in Dilley and Karnes City). Almost a month ago, I was sent the Wonderlic Assessment. I've heard nothing since. I've seen elsewhere on this forum where folks are contacted for an interview in ~2 weeks and only a few where it was around a month. Has anyone heard anything from the Texas offices or is familiar with their hiring process? Below is my timeline thus far:

5/24: Application submitted
5/28: Closing date
6/5: NOR (best qualified)
6/10: Wonderlic Assessment

I'm a born pessimist, so I'm assuming my application is DOA. But who knows? It is the federal government after all.

August 2018. TO from SF office
November 2018. Interview with investigator
January 2019 Was offered another TO in NY, took that one instead of SF and told BI continued

Now I am still waiting.....HR said background check was complete but hasn’t turn it over to USCIS yet. What does that mean? Anyone is still waiting this longs?

Hey, congrats on the EOD! I am waiting for my interim decision at the moment. Do you have a guess why your interim got denied? Also, it took them a while to get back to you with a decision for an interim! Way over the supposed 20 days. Any insight on why the long wait?

Thanks, and congrats again!
