308 days since I applied for the position, and 200 days since I have submitted my SF86.

Currently in that "holding" phase. Haven't heard from an investigator, and still getting cut and paste "You should hear something in 3 to 5 months" emails from my (albeit wonderful) recruiter.

Holding out on bugging anyone until 255days. Seems like a reasonable amount of silence before asking questions again.

Submitted SF86 in Jan 2018, investigation finished in August.

Just barely contacted to do a couple days of "security interviews" in a month. Is this the poly/psych?

They should send an email with details if it’s poly psych.
Was it a scheduler or your BI?

Scheduler. My investigator said back in August that he had finished and sent it on.

Hi everyone,

I Earlier posted my timeline stating I had been scheduled for poly and psych eval. Has anyone failed the 1st poly from a false positive and passed the second one answering the same? I took 1st poly and apparently I was found to be lying on 2 questions when I was answering honestly.
My main question is however, when you took you second poly, do you redo the entire poly (both counterintelligence and lifestyle) or just the one you had issues with?

Thanks

Here is my timeline:

11/18 - Applied to STEM position
12/18 - Phone interview
01/19 - Operational interview
02/19 - Informed about CJO
03/19 - Official CJO
03/19 - Request for further information
04/19 - Security reviewing forms
05/19 - Notified that I am still processing.
07/19 - Called NSA ICHIRES. Told that I am in security processing and background investigation stage.

Does this mean my background investigation has already started? A few days before I called ICHIRES, my recruiter said he was still waiting on hearing back from security on the review of the additional information.
I have also not yet been contacted by a BI, or had poly/psych scheduled.

Just got back from my Polygraph. It was an absolute N I G H T M A R E. 4 hours in a room with wires attached to 4 different parts of your body, whole time being accused that I was lying about the drug use question... and I have never done drugs in my life!!!! Never felt so deceived/cheated/disrespected in my entire life, almost started tearing up around the 4th hour of begging them to do a drug test on me and that I was not lying. I also do not know if when you take the second if they skip everything else and just ask you the one they didn't believe you in or they do the whole thing over again. Either way, it's a sham and it sucks.

The best story I've heard was the guy who went home after the poly and his wife asked him, how was it?

He said, "YOUR HUSBAND'S A DRUG DEALER AND I NEVER KNEW IT!!!"
DISCLAIMER: You read it on an open internet forum :)

I think if you’re still in suitability, then you haven’t entered adjudication yet.
I know my recruiter said it can take up to three months (!!!) for the psych report to be finished.

If you get denied during suitability, you’re only denied employment at the NSA. They usually tell you to apply again after a year and the letter will also say “This isn’t a clearance denial".
If you get denied during adjudication, then your security clearance is denied.

(Source: I got a suitability denial for another intelligence agency. The intelligence agencies will share information, including reasons for the suitability denial, between themselves.)

Per my coworkers and my boss from my old job: yes, you have to retake both parts.

In others experience, how long after poly have you learned out your adjudication decision?

Thanks

Did you find the second Poly to be a lot better than the second in terms of the overall experience? (apparently most people fail first and pass the second from what i've seen). My first one, and the first one of a couple of school buddies of mine was terrible.

Yeah. It was better.I knew what I was going in to with the whole polygraph set up (like the questions and the feeling of being hooked up to the machine) and in my experience a different examiner helped.

Well, i got the dreaded “application discontinued” letter from my recruiter, and also in the mail. I can’t believe after going through everything, this happened! I was notified by my recruiter to send a letter to a specific address, asking why my application process has been discontinued. Does anyone have any recommendations on what i need to say? Or what i should write in the letter? I mean i know i need to obviously ask why, but i’m not sure if there is some kind of formality I need to include in the letter, or just ask questions as to why, and how long before I can apply again. I hope you all have better luck than i did. I appreciate any help!
