I can't say for certain, but I did some google-fu and prostitution doesn't seem to be a felony offense (someone correct me if I'm wrong). My gut says that if it was over ten years ago, and particularly if it was legal in that country, you may be okay. I think you would have only been DQ'd if you had previously lied about it or if it was a felony. Best of luck and let us know how it turns out.

Today is day 6 since my application status changed to "Assessment SA Phase 1" and still no invite and I've checked my spam folders.

I've gone through the forum and haven't seen anyone receive it later than day 6 since the change.

When would it be appropriate to email my local FO? I don't want to be annoy them either, as I'm sure they are extremely busy, but I'd like to take Phase 1 and hopefully pass now. Thank you in advance, best of luck to all!

Did you put that information on your SF86? I've never recalled the SF86 asking you to submit anything that wasn't of record. In other words, unless you got in trouble for it or there was record of it, then there was no need to put it on there. Obviously you may want to say something if asked during the poly; but, providing it on the SF86 probably wasn't necessary.

Except....while it may not have been illegal, it could be considered immoral and unethical. I'm not saying that's the case here, just saying that you can't base the legality on whether or not it was ok to do so. For instance, in Korea, prostitution has been outlawed for at least two decades just based on the premise of human trafficking. When it comes to security clearances, the one thing that the security folks want to see is whether or not there's anything in your background that could be used as blackmail later on. Sure, there's some crime that may have been committed (felony/misdemeanor) in some cases and you can still get a clearance, no problem. On the flip side, a simple discussion or simple relationship with someone could lead security folks to question your ability to retain a clearance. That's just based on my experience; something to think about. I couldn't tell you what they're actually doing in this case.

Yeah. Actually the PSI guy was like "I have to ask, what's with the mrpoopiebutthole thing." I just laughed and said, I didn't really think about it that much when I made it.

Why would you mention anything about federalsoup? Did they specifically ask you to tell you message board user IDs?

But in all honesty, I was like what the heck.. why would he pick such name. Not gonna lie, lol.

They specifically asked if I was participating in any forums and if so, what my username was. The guy did say "for the record, I appreciate your honesty.

Oh okay. That’s good. I didn’t know they checked all the forums. I can understand this forum since people share info about the hiring process and check to make sure people arent violating the NDAs.

Hope it works out for you bud. Keep us posted.

Thanks buddy. I'm not too worried about it. I have mixed feelings about moving anyway. I have a good job and my wife, child and I are pretty happy. I may have made some mistakes in my life. I figured that I would go in and tell the truth. If they don't take me then it's out of my hands. I can't change the past.

Please disregard my previous posts about the P 1 invite, it's coming. I know most of you say it's easy, but any last minute Phase 1 prep material advice would be appreciated or is what they send in the e-mail sufficient to pass? Thank you!

Just use the guide they provide. That is the best prep in my opinion.

I have a question! Would you feel comfortable sharing your full timeline either here or via PM?

I spend most of my time in the 'other thread,' but as you're the first poster here to get into Sept, I think it would help others get an idea for their possible chances of also making it.

Also, last but not least...congratulations!!!

Do you, or anyone for that matter, have a detailed/updated list of required and suggested items to bring for training? I found a list provided online, but I wasn't sure how up-to-date it was. Also, does anyone know how many spots are still available for September? I had LASIK 6 months ago and am just waiting for my final post-op check in a few days to be cleared. I was told to be ready for September, but I don't want to get a list of things I need to buy a few days before I have to leave.

Congrats and best of luck!
