Just did mine and haven’t finished background yet. It would make sense for them to schedule one if you are coming up on the expiration date for your last one. That way they don’t have to worry if you get a last minute slot.

I'm working on my resume ahead of my M&G next week and I'm not sure how many years of professional experience to include. Is there a certain number of years that you have to account for?

Just put down every single job you ever had from when you were 17 to how old you are currently. It's 3 years of professional experience. 2 years with a advanced degree.

As far as advice. Dress the best you can. Get a hair cut and be clean shaven. This is the agencies first impression of you.

Preferably wear a black suit with a white shirt. (This might not matter but that's what I did) Make sure you bring a notebook and a pen with you to write with.

As long as you don't come off arrogant and be attentive you will be okay. The AC who is guiding you through the process can really determine how fast the process goes.

The Number of months it takes can vary it seems. For some it takes 2 years. I've also seen as little as 9 months.

If you accept and pass every phase on the very 1st opportunity, and you have all of the shots, it will go quickly.

I applied 12/30/18

I'm just waiting on medical and my background now.

I was supposed to have my polygraph today but we only discussed my PSI and SF86 because I stated that 10 plus years ago while serving in the military, I admitted to sleeping with a prostitute while overseas.

The polygrapher said he felt that I was being honest but called HQ and they said they would need to adjunct and to hold off on actually conducting the polygraph.

Any thoughts on this? Am I already DQed?

My application status changed to Phase 1 Assessment after receiving an e-mail about the status change today. However, I never received the invite yet but processing date was changed to today? I'm assuming it should be coming soon. Any helpful tips for studying or preparing for Phase 1 would be appreciated. Thank you and best of luck to you all!

You'll get another email sometime shortly. This will be an email from the testing company to register for a testing center and time. I received mine 5 days after being notified of a change in my status.

My advice is to use the provided FBI testing overview and practice questions to get ready for the exam. That by itself is sufficient for most people, but you can also find some similar types of practice questions elsewhere.

Hey, today would be day 5 since the app statua change. Just curious was the invite sent at night? Hoping to get it sometime today. Thank you in advance

Received the invitation for the M&G today; scheduled for 21 August. I had to move some things around as I was already scheduled for something else; didn't want to slow this process any longer than it'll already be.

I can't say for certain, but I did some google-fu and prostitution doesn't seem to be a felony offense (someone correct me if I'm wrong). My gut says that if it was over ten years ago, and particularly if it was legal in that country, you may be okay. I think you would have only been DQ'd if you had previously lied about it or if it was a felony. Best of luck and let us know how it turns out.

Today is day 6 since my application status changed to "Assessment SA Phase 1" and still no invite and I've checked my spam folders.

I've gone through the forum and haven't seen anyone receive it later than day 6 since the change.

When would it be appropriate to email my local FO? I don't want to be annoy them either, as I'm sure they are extremely busy, but I'd like to take Phase 1 and hopefully pass now. Thank you in advance, best of luck to all!

Did you put that information on your SF86? I've never recalled the SF86 asking you to submit anything that wasn't of record. In other words, unless you got in trouble for it or there was record of it, then there was no need to put it on there. Obviously you may want to say something if asked during the poly; but, providing it on the SF86 probably wasn't necessary.

Except....while it may not have been illegal, it could be considered immoral and unethical. I'm not saying that's the case here, just saying that you can't base the legality on whether or not it was ok to do so. For instance, in Korea, prostitution has been outlawed for at least two decades just based on the premise of human trafficking. When it comes to security clearances, the one thing that the security folks want to see is whether or not there's anything in your background that could be used as blackmail later on. Sure, there's some crime that may have been committed (felony/misdemeanor) in some cases and you can still get a clearance, no problem. On the flip side, a simple discussion or simple relationship with someone could lead security folks to question your ability to retain a clearance. That's just based on my experience; something to think about. I couldn't tell you what they're actually doing in this case.

I did put it on my SF86. I was upfront about everything.
