Hi,
I'm new to the federal job application process. I have applied and just been referred to the hiring officer for a County Program Technician job for the USDA Farm Service Agency. I was wondering if there are any current/former FSA technicians here that can provide some insight on how their experiences went.

Right now I am trying to prepare for a *possible* interview without getting my hopes up too high.... Does anyone have any insight on what the chances of getting an interview are for a position such as this? How long after referral did you have to wait? what type of interview is it usually(phone, in-person, panel, etc.?) are there any position-specific interview questions you encountered? I have been in contact with the person on the job announcement to express my interest, but I'm not going to email again so I don't come off as pushy.

Also, do you know if it's a good sign that I'm out-of-state and still got referred?

Any advice will be appreciated!!

Thank you,

Melody
