Lakeshore, that is definitely a question for your application advisor, who works with hiring offices to find you a billet. I was selected for DC, but after being cleared I asked my advisor to put my on lists for offices everywhere. She just said they will reach out to hiring offices with my interest. Nothing has happened since, but...nothing bad has happened. It's your life and career, so you should at least ask about the possibilities of staying in DC. Personally, I think I'd rather move to St. L. Traffic in DMV sucks. Good luck.

After waiting placement for 19 months, I have been told that I am NO LONGER BEING CONSIDERED FOR EMPLOYMENT. Apparently, I should have received a letter in the mail about this last month. I didn't, but my application advisor informed me when I checked-in with my status the other day. This news is crushing, absolutely crushing. For 2 years, since the COE, I have been looking forward with great anticipation to starting. I was given COE for Human Geographer, the position for which I applied. It was my dream job. I never believed that they would terminate my application after I received clearance. I thought I was "gold." They told me "it is not a matter of if, just when." But, the worst just happened. As of now, I don't have any reason for this. As I've said in previous posts, you're not at NGA until your at NGA. Good luck to the rest of you.

I received the letter from NGA explaining that since my COE, they had changed their mission and were no longer hiring my position (Human Geographer). They encouraged me to apply to other positions (they spent all that money on my clearance, after all.). Huge, huge, bummer, but life goes on. Maybe I'll re-apply someday, but not likely since I don't qualify for other positions. I am interested in how I can use this clearance to find a new position though. Any ideas? Till then, better luck to everyone else.

@faleoo I have heard other people have luck with clearancejobs.com, I get quite a few messages on there, but I never really sort through them or do anything with them.

That is too bad. Have you applied at CIA or DIA?

I plan on dropping off resumes at CIA, etc. I did that years ago, so no harm in trying again. Clearancejobs.com is a good idea. Does anyone know if I can actually claim I have clearance when looking/applying for these jobs even though it wasn't activated (I never had an EOD)?

How do you know you have a clearance?

Is the applicant portal site down for anyone else? I tried accessing on 2 different devices at various times since Sunday and the page will not load.

Based on information and timelines shared on this thread, it appears that there can be a very wide range of time between receiving a clearance and receiving EODs. Currently, I'm sitting at 4 months.

I'm hoping that with the new fiscal year starting next week, it may mean I'll be hearing shortly. Is this a valid hope, or just a fool's dream?

Anyway, I'm just in a wait and see position...

Seems like its been radio silence for a while. Anyone have any updates at all? I've been "awaiting placement" for nearly 6 months now. I'm definitely getting antsy.

Here is my ongoing timeline:

July 2018: Applied

September 2018: "Selected" (told I would get COE within a week).

January 2019: After waiting for the COE for over 4 months, I check in with HR to see what's going on and they tell me a mistake was made. Apparently a wrong date was entered. Finally I receive the COE 1 week later.

Early February 2019: SF86 submitted.

March 2019: Interview conducted. Also, sent to DC for poly and fingerprints.

April 2019: Told by investigator the investigation has been finished. Several of my references/ former colleagues contacted.

Bi-monthly "check in" emails until September. Radio silence since.

Has everyone been notified when they've received their clearance and are in adjudication? Or does it go from the investigation straight to EOD date?

I could see on my applicant hub when I was successfully adjudicated and entered the "awaiting placement" phase, aka waiting for an EOD. No one contacted me to tell me this, but I confirmed this with my HR POC. I entered this phase over 6 months ago, now. I check in monthly with HR, but it is still the same message, that I am awaiting placement/EOD, and there is no timeline for when this may occur. It is very frustrating.

Any updates from anyone? I'm curious to hear from those who have been cleared and are waiting for EOD dates? Also wondering if your positions are analyst positions?

COE 12/2018
Awaiting placement/EOD since 6/2019.

Waiting for nearly 7 months. Yes it is an analyst position. Hopefully the new 2020 budget will bring good news in the new year.

Are you awaiting placement at STL or Virginia? I'm awaiting placement for an imagery analyst position in STL and I'm really hoping not to wait more than 4 months for EOD (crossing fingers).

Springfield VA. Hope your pre-employment testing went well! And hopefully early 2020 brings good news for both of us.

My situation in St. Louis:

Applied: December 2018
Interview: April 2019
Notice of Selection (Pre-offer Notification): June 2019
COE: June 2019
SF86: June 2019
Adjudicated: October 2019

Radio silence since. No COE.

It has been very frustrating because I started a new job in June and literally the second day I got there I got a better offer from the NGA. As you can imagine I have not been terribly motivated at my job since I doubt I will be there long term. Unfortunately, I have been waiting a lot longer than I anticipated.

My life is basically in limbo.
