All of your waiting on an FO makes me wonder. My HR rep told me 7-10 days. I’m on day 17 still waiting and clicking reload on my email constantly.

How long did it take them to type your FOs?

Once I was notified that I was getting a final offer it was literally minutes later that I received it via email link to the career connector.

How were you notified? Did you call someone to check on the status?

Email. Notified via email. That was what I meant. Sorry, prepping for Halloween and wasn’t typing coherently.

Hey everyone...I just found this forum and I guess I'm in the same limbo status as most of you but I think some are you are ahead of me with the TO. I applied and interviewed back in Jul and recieved my status of being selected on Aug 6th on USAJOBs. But since then its been a ghost town....I have talked to the reps on the phone had tickets made and sent plenty of emails with no response. My question is, is this normal not to even get a TO after 3 months?

I had 4 selections in USAJOBS:

One I declined the TO
One I never received any TO (followed up with HR and said I was still in running for that one, but USAJobs should NOT have changed to selected)
One I have received a TO I did not even interview for
One I interviewed for and received the TO and have heard from the SO, but nothing from HR
Several more I made cert but was not hired.

Edit: 11/1 rec'd phone call to schedule fingerprints, Yay!!!

So we are all in various stages of this. I think you may be a part of the JUL group like me that was selected in USAJobs but that was incorrect. My conversation with the HR rep said that selection notice that went out Aug 6 was incorrectly updated in USAJOBs too early.

In that announcement, it says it’s to place people in other positions. As soon as I got a selected in the 0343 position someone called me about another position in the IRS.

When I was interviewing with the HCO they specifically said they’re trying to figure out the placement of people they were interviewing.

However, it might be a while. Even when/if you see a TO the process still takes forever. Keep applying.

I think I was in a different situation because my hiring manager had called me several times to apprise me of what was going on to the best of her ability.
I interviewed in July, TO beginning of August, phone call the very next day after I accepted offer to set up my fingerprinting appointment. That's when everything slowed to a stop. There was very little contact and no new information. I was told my office was set up and waiting for me, the hold up was security.
My manager called me last Friday to tell me I had passed security and my FO would be sent out that moment. It took about 6 hours for me to get the email to log onto Career Connector to view my FO. I will be starting on November 12th.

My takeaway from this process (and it is a process) is to be patient, which is easier said than done, especially from someone who already is at the end of the process. Nothing happens rapidly concerning government, if anyone has ever been in the military its all "hurry up and wait", at least here we don't have to eat MRE's :P

The IRS took on too big of a hiring wave with not enough manpower.

Good luck and if I can answer any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Congrats on your FO. Has anyone received their E-QIP invite yet? Those with a FO.

So here's where I stand now

Jul Interview for HCO
Aug Selected in USAJobs
Aug told that Selection was incorrect by HR
Aug told still in running by HR
Jul applied for other IRS posting
Sept Interviewed
Sept Rec'd TO
Oct heard from SO
Oct Fingerprints pulled
Nov told information is in the system
Nov Told FO is pending

Don't worry about USAJobs for anything about the IRS I don't feel it's updated. In between all that I applied for several postings made several certs, interviewed, received offers, heard back from HR, did not hear back from HR for extended periods. I just keep calling and asking questions. Just keep calling.

I agree with you FFhire. I received an email saying I was non selected for a clerk position but usajobs still shows it in my onboarding as selected. I'll just be happy when November 12th rolls around and I'm in the seat for the HR job. That job still says selected, but doesn't say "hired" even though I accepted FO. More proof that usajobs is unreliable.

After you do your fingerprinting does something update in the career connector that shows it was completed?

My case, I was sent an email to do fingerprints, but then rec'd a call not to go because they are in the system already. I asked for confirmation and that was sent by email. My career connector was not updated. Others may have a different take on it. Your fingerprints will need to be pulled over to your TO. In my case, the reason I did not have to go is my prints, pic, and background they pulled over from my current job. Waiting for the FO at this point.

When I did fingerprints, nothing updated on career connector. Let's see what others have to say. Seems as if this board is drying up in responses from those who received FO's.

When I did my fingerprints I was told it would be completed in 7-10 business days and shook my hand like I’m all done. The question is it seems to vary for everyone after this point. Some get a FO fast like in two weeks, others over a month.

*It took about 14 days for me to get my firm offer after the fingerprints. I know everything takes times because it was another 14 days till I got the e-QIP to complete the background. The firm offer included my start date as well.
