[Their] duties are wide-ranging, but [their] goal is clear: keeping America safe. (source: www.dhs.gov)

I did for ISO 2 for Lee's Summit, it seems that they moved from Wonderlic to Vantage. What is your score? Mine 4/6.

I scored the same and I consider myself a fairly good writer, so I was kind of disappointed to be honest lol

That seems to be a default score for this new Writing Assessment contractor, (Vantage).

Everyone I know that has taken the assessment has scored 4/6 immediately after finishing.

It would be normal to have a variance of the score for different individuals. Everyone getting 4/6 in the same test is either a monumental coincidence or is just an indication of a default score. Maybe a glitch because the test/software is new?

I guess everyone will find out in due time.

Congratulations, TexVet!

At least the rest of us who had that same score have some reassurance.

Is that for the ISO 1 with the Dallas Field Office?

Yeah it is! Interestingly enough, when they sent out the Vantage essay they accidentally CC’d everyone, so I actually saw that they sent it to at least 80 or so people. It’s kind of intimidating honestly, but we’ll see how it goes!

I received a tentative job offer for Immigration Services Assistant this morning 11/27/19.
I interviewed on 10/17/19.

I think they stopped posting jobs and offering jobs due to the budget but now that it has been extended I think that’s why they sent out the tentative offer.

Has anyone receive the TO for the job announcement# CIS-DHA-10515293-WSC? I interviewed at Laguna Niguel on September 6th, and have waiting for 3 months so far.... Is the time to give up hope? Is it normal to wait for 3 months?

Hello friend,

Have you contacted the email provided at the bottom of the announcement asking if Selections have been made?

They can give you a response if they have, or let you know if they are still in the process.

I hope that helps.

On 8/5 I tested for CIS-DHS-10515715-WSC. ISO-1, Laguna Niguel. They told me 90-120 days for results. It's been 4 months. I haven't heard anything yet.

Hello Everyone!

I have a couple of questions for ISOs/Employees/Human Resources personnel at the NBC at Lee's Summit/Overland Park.

You can post the answer here or send me a private message if you prefer.

Has anyone been hired as an ISO for the NBC at Lee's Summit during the last 4 years
without having an interview, just a Writing Assessment?

Are ISO's hired under the NBC announcement going to the Overland Park, Kansas location only or are they assigned
to the Lee's Summit location also?

I hope it's answered by an employee/former employee of the NBC.

Thanks!

I was in the same room buddy, haven't heard anything from the CSC.

Someone else above also applied to a prior announcement and they have not heard anything either. Are they even hiring?

Thanks

Wondering this myself. Interview was done mid September, but was told it could take 30-60 days.

I also applied for the ISO position at Laguna Niguel, CA service center and have gone through the all the written exercises and the quick 5 minute interview. That was first week of September. They said could be up to 90 days.

I guess just playing the waiting game, best of luck to all!

Just a follow up to my own post. I received a TO from the VSC. Est it took just about 90 days from announcement closure.

Question I have is would me accepting this TO stop other applications I have pending in other centers? I've gone through all the steps for the California Service Center as well and I'm fairly confident I'll get a TO from them given the time allotted, however their timeline is much longer and they seem to be moving very slow. CSC is little more preferred as I'm already a So-Cal resident. Since that position is not guaranteed, I can't let the VSC opportunity go but at the same time don't want that to suddenly stop because I accepted this TO.

Anyone who's gone through similar experience, feedback would be much appreciated.

Congrats on getting an interview with Laguna Nigel, they wouldn't even refer me!

Accepting a TO does not preclude you from getting another TO, however for USCIS they only allow you have one tentative offer with them at a time. Meaning if the CSC extends a TO, if you accept that one it will cancel your VSC TO. I'm still waiting for an EOD from the VSC myself, I figure it won't be till next year with the holidays and all.

I'm a little bummed that I have not heard back from Laguna CSC, but it appears not many have.

As for VSC, I got my EOD email. I was not expecting it this fast as I had just completed the eQip a week ago. I hope you got or get the positive news soon as well.

Anyone else get an EOD from VSC yet?

Is it common to be hired as an ISO1 7 with a master’s degree and additional grad coursework when the job announcement says 7 or 9? No prior fed or immigration experience. Or is that a situation where a person should try to negotiate?

Thanks for any insight!

I think it is. Everyone I have talked to hired as a 9 had immigration experience. What is your step ? Grade 7 step ?

Hello,

The 1st question is, did they initially refer you as a GS-07 and GS-09? You only get the grade you are referred as initially. In my experience, the best time to appeal this is when you are just referred. If they refer you for the GS-07, and not the GS-09 that you believe you are qualified for because of your degree, contact the email on the Announcement and tell them you are asking for an appeal of the rating. Include copy of your degree/s. If you let it get to the interview, they are interviewing based on the grade you were referred as. It might be too late. I have never appealed after being interviewed.

If you already had the interview, I would still appeal it to see what happens, you have nothing to lose. If you get a response, either way, can you let us know here so we can help others?

Thanks,

Good luck!
