Aug 1 2019 Applied for multiple positions - Exploitation analyst & Computer Network Analyst
Aug 22 2019 Interview / phone & in person
Sep 5 2019 CJO for Exploitation
Sep 5 2019 filled SF-86
Sep 5 2019 2nd CJO for Computer Net Analyst
Oct 2 2019 Additional info submitted for SF-86 <-- parents foreign passports
Nov 27 2019 Additional info submitted <-- Parents Naturalization info and foreign family member info. "Just names DOB and where they live and whether or not there is communications."

I see the need of a ton of info which is cool, means that they are working on it. No call from BI or a Psych/Poly scheduled yet.

I'm cool with this since most of the time I am working/studying stuff on HTB or pentesterlab soo at least I'm learning something till this process is done.

You can check your free annual credit report to see if they have done a soft pull on your credit. Otherwise, its mainly just sitting back and enjoying the looooooong ride.

Operational interview is just your on site face to face interview with a staff member(s). Expect more job role related questions and not general HR questions. It may be your with future direct manager, just draw from your work experience and education and you will be fine.

I have no idea, mine was in person since it was convenient. May have to do with budgets and the particular role you have applied for. Maybe that particular team leader prefers in person interviews. I will say this, I personally had an awesome interview and I'm really looking forward to working with my future team lead. Someone on this forum gave some great advice that I took to heart, the interview is not just for the NSA, it's a great chance to ask some questions about these job roles. These are not run of the mill jobs that any person can get. Ask all you can about what type of work you'll be doing. The job descriptions can be a little vague and I found out some really good things about my job role during the operational interview. Good luck.

I was told I’d get a cjo at the end of my interview. Written formal letter was received via email 2 weeks later. Every dept. is different though.

Once NSA pulls a soft credit check , what do we see in the report ? "NSA" or "DOD" or something like that ?

Silence ever since. Would love to know when the next steps will happen but I do understand this whole thing is a black box.

Still no news. Is it normal to go 7 months after eQIP without any updates?

Yes, it's a time to practice patience. You could always reach out to your recruiter, but honestly. It's just patience.

Poly is USUALLY scheduled separately and will coincide with your psych battery.

It's not much of a help to reach out to your recruiter. They're probably going to say you're currently "actively processing" and that they have no info at this time and will contact you if something comes up. So in the meantime, it's in your best interest to look for a job, hopefully something related to the position you applied for so then you can negotiate if you do get cleared.

Out of curiosity, how is the Operational Interview? I have mine scheduled next month along with my poly/psych, I am quite nervous.

9/20/2018 - Submitted application
4/10/2019 - Interview
5/28/2019 - Prescreen phone call
6/4/2019 - Transcripts and resume sent
6/11/2019 - CJO
6/28/2019 - SF-86 submitted
9/13/2019 - BI Interview
9/16-9/20 - Neighbors, friends, and professors contacted by investigators

My BI called yesterday and said investigation is complete and being sent to review. If I don't hear anything in two weeks, then the investigation portion has been completed and sent to the next step. Waiting to be scheduled for Poly & Psych. After waiting 8 months to hear back from my application, the last 3 months have felt pretty quick to go from SF-86 to the investigation portion being (almost/hopefully) complete. The waiting game continues! I appreciate everyone's timeline updates!

Update:

10/19 - Scheduled for poly and psych for the end of the month

11/19 - Psych pass and second poly scheduled for mid November

Welp 4th times a charm!!!

11/19 - second poly
12/19 - third poly
12/19 fourth poly (successful)

Blown away by the fact that they were able to schedule me for 4 polys and a psych eval in a month and a half time period. Also a little mentally drained from the last few weeks because of it, but so relieved to be done! Commence the second half of the waiting game !
