I’m in EP and I’ll be in Cincy 12/2. You guys must be the other group our trainer told us about. Are you staying at the Homewood downtown?

How long is the first phase off training?

Cincinnati training is the 2nd-18th, for me anyways.

Do you know what the policy is for travel home on weekends? Do they assist with the cost of traveling home? If not, do they pay for your hotel over the weekend?

Do you have dates for your second phase of training yet? Just curious how far apart they will be.

Edit: also, is a rental car provided? I've heard it varies depending on if you're staying in city center (with easy access to restaurants) or not.

You can go home on weekends but that is on you financially, getting there and coming back to the hotel minus the per diem you get in meals. The hotel will be booked the whole time you are in training, even if you aren't always staying there. Also, as far as a rental car, almost all the time, but there are few exceptions, they will not pay for a rental car. They will pay for mileage as far as you driving your personal vehicle to the training and from training.

For the weekend travel home you can do a cost comparison and get back the cheaper of staying at the hotel or returning home. On my last training trip there was a coworker that flew home every weekend, would have to check out Friday morning though.

That is true, you can get the cheaper but I would assume flying home every weekend would be more expensive than just keeping the hotel you are booked at, even if you aren't in the room. Now, driving is a different story. That could be cheaper. Just an fyi though. Lodging and lodging tax 100% NEEDS to be put on the GOVERNMENT CREDIT CARD. Also, as far as mileage for your personal vehicle, it is only on your travel days you get mileage reimbursement.

I was told the next face to face training session was January 27th through February 14th. Don’t have a location yet. I’m in EP.

I am still waiting for FO for EP.

Here is some interesting news to share. Per the hiring manager, there are still 17 EP new hires that need to be processed. The next hire date is January 20th and they are trying to get everyone in by this time. There will be online training the week of January 27th and then classroom training will be the first 2 weeks in February. No word on the location yet.

I know it is challenging being patient, but in the end, it should be well worth the wait.

Congratulations! I received my FO this morning with start date January 21 as well! Do you know if you are reporting to your POD? My FO has orientation location TBD.

I am not sure where orientation will be; however, it sounds like the first phase of training may be in Indianapolis.

It will be primarily out of state travel with TEGE.

It depends on your POD and the number of states your POD covers.

Orientation in is your POD. It's a two day conference call.
