I'm pretty early in the process compared to most of you. It will be interesting to see if any of the recent security clearance changes (e.g. DCSA, Trusted Workforce 2.0, etc.) have incidental impacts on future timelines like mine. Applied--March 2019 Interview/COE--June 2019 Medical/Poly--October 2019 Radio silence since. Hoping to hear from an investigator soon to discuss the SF-86 and start the BI process. Do you guys ever receive correspondence from your POC that you are still processing? I read on here once that they have a policy of reaching out every 45 days, but I didn't know if that is reflective of others' experiences. Edited by user Tuesday, January 14, 2020 6:41:08 PM(UTC)

I usually receive a phone call around the 50-60 day mark. Good luck with your processing

Has anyone else submitted an SF86C and received an FJO? I submitted an SF86C at the beginning of December 2019 and was hoping to hear goods news soon based on some other responses in this forum, but now I'm thinking it might just be routine paperwork...I did have a pretty complicated SF86C since I took a job abroad for a few months during 2019 and had significant travel trips, but only two new foreign contacts.
For reference: COE - July 2017 SF86 - August 2017 Poly/Med - November 2017 SF86C - December 2019
It's been a long ride so far, so I'm hoping there's an end in sight. Any insight would be helpful!

No insight really but....I think a bunch of us were asked to fill out the 86c in dec and jan. From what I’ve read here, it seems like a month or 2 before they get back to you depending on how many updates you had, I’m guessing. With a couple trips abroad and new foreign contacts, a longer wait wouldn’t surprise me unfortunately. My 2c

Guess I was just wondering if getting an SF86C meant anything, or if they're clearing out a backlog of applications all at once. I got really excited when I saw others were getting FJOs a couple of months after the SF86C.

Got the call today informing me that I successfully got through the security phase! Need to check some things and then going to get EOD scheduled soon! My full timeline is in my post history. Approx 2.5 years beginning to end. Signing off permanently pretty soon. Good luck to all! It's a long process but it plays itself out in the end!

What grade did you get hired as? Do you have any experience?

Yes multiple years (but less than 10) of experience in the field I got hired for.

Final timeline Applied: 06/2018 Interview: 10/2018 COE: 11/2018 Medical/Polygraph/Other testing: 04/2019 BI Started: 06/2019 BI End (approx): 09/2019 Follow-up interview: 02/2020 EOD: 03/2020 No red flags that might have caused a hiccup in processing time, just a few foreign contacts and inconclusive polys. Grateful for the good advice on this forum; hope I can pay it forward now. Edited by user Sunday, March 8, 2020 1:56:25 AM(UTC)

I wouldn’t expect anything until after Virginia lifts its shelter in place order.

Trying to reapply after a year, but it is not letting me make a new account because it says I have an "active application" and then when I try to use my old login it is just the confirmation of my application last year. Anyone got any advice? I feel like my lack of perceptiveness here doesn't bode well for my suitability as an employee of the agency ;)

I have heard that with the nomination of a new president, all existing security clearances get placed at the bottom of the list b/c the new administration needs to get people cleared. Does anyone know if this is true? I received my COE in Aug. 2017 and hate to think I could be waiting another 3 years...

This comes up every four years (or so) and it is untrue. They dont have the same investigators doing schlubs like you and me doing the high-level political appointees. |
