What’s the point in paying them then ? The offer is so useless.
I’ll talk to dickhead tomorrow and see what horse manure he tells me. You can’t really get sober quickly. Especially in a high stress job alcohol is a solid drug. I was going to get clean and document it for the arbitration hearing. Asking someone to go to eap or get help is the easy part. Anyone can do that, the point is to enable someone to the point where they do it consistently. I never even had to go to eap. Just once. Regardless of that no discipline mandated it, they can’t. I guess I will prove discipline was a result of porn addiction.

The union is not going to waste time and on a case that has a 10% chance. Based on your comments I'm just going to assume you're pulling all the cards out now to try to come back clean so you can do it again later instead of accepting a deal to come back and staying on your best behavior

How can the union side with management ? Makes no sense. Management doesn’t care about any employee. So your saying union is management in this case. I beg to differ.

I take no side and no pleasure in what I am about to say: it’s time for you to move on to another company and/or career. You are wasting your time and the time of others in this endeavor. You have to be your strongest advocate. Not a steward, not some lawyer and not even some higher power should be counted to vouch for YOU. You have to be your best defense. Your character has to be what helps you the most.

I am probably the most imperfect person here telling you this but you absolutely have to change the way you think and take baby steps in improving who you are regardless of addictions, burdens, upbringing etc. You are the keeper of your own door.

I’m not going to condescend to a place where my words could be viewed as judgmental and damaging. Until you change your attitude and start believing that you control your destiny by your choices you will continue wasting your time going in circles.

Every day we make choices. Choose to be better. Much more can be said and I’ve deleted a lot of what I had typed but everything I have and could say are things that you already know. It’s time to move on.

One thieving coworker was in handcuffs in court. He pleaded no contest and instead of losing his job and getting fired he was put in the aptly-named ASP. No joke--they put him straight into management training. Then they sent him back to supervise the same office where he stole mail. To this day those employees have contempt for and joke about him. You see, he was promoted and is now a Postmaster.

So much for those on these forums who say we should respect managers.

What I am saying, OP, is that you may just have to confess and become a manager. There are lots of people like you in postal management.

Well I went for the offer and that’s that. Short career at the post office. Hopefully there are unemployment extensions and or I get
A full time job or at least another part time job in these trying times. Good learning experience, but not the best outcome. Not sure what’s next, but there is a ban on alcohol in Massachusetts so need to stock up lol. Thanks for all the posts everybody.

When I bid into that office the manager left for another post. J not sure who that was. We are talking 2019 though. The milfs are easy to spot. The post office is desperate for city carrier assistants down the south shore according to the website. I didn’t see any pse openings at all. I wonder if I reapplied what the process would be since I already passed all the initial tests about 6 years ago. The hard part is they can place you anywhere in Massachusetts. A lot of pse don’t even make it to regular with hours that get cut after a year and working sundays. It’s a raw deal for most used to a set schedule. But that’s not going to happen anytime soon.

Redhead ? There is an annex and 3 offices. There is a brunette at main st. The lead clerk looks like she is 90, she bid out to Belmont. Post office right now is not an ideal job as the low seniority folks get overworked or have a disability or fmla. If I was at another office maybe this wouldn’t have happened. There’s a limited amount of those unfortunately. North Waltham is good, main st sucks, spruce st people don’t even know it’s there. 2 clerks had fmla on main street so they would not show up several times a month. One guy quit after 20 years. Needham sucks, newton Centre sucks, newtonville is okay but low seniority does all the work and pse s got fired there because of the same supervisor that basically fired me. Waltham annex is mostly pse’s doing all the work. Some fools can’t even pass the window test. At a loss here.

So the offer you accepted was you resign and get a clean record.

You may have resigned yourself out of any unemployment.

Most states if you quit or resign a job you get nothing.

You're going to have to wait and see what the PO does with your unemployment situation.

Well they already approved it weeks ago. Not too concerned. It’s pretty much over and a separate issue. At the time there was a separation issue. This is just an agreement to have it appear as if I resigned for future employers.
