Does anyone know why a DI actually needs a comprehensive medical exam? The position does not carry guns, does not have arrest authority, it isnt considered hazardous duty.

I just worry bc I am a Type 1 diabetic and I dont want that to be barred from employment for a position that isnt LEO.

Due to the various environments a DI could be working in it is important for (s)he to be in good health. As for diabetes, as long as your A1C is within normal range, you will be fine. I have Type 2, and my medical is suitable.
I'm sure others could give more accurate information (Gear Up), but I hope this helps.

Has anyone who is awaiting medical or has to redo medical having issues with getting it done? Contracting agency has scheduled it a few times and then cancels before the appointment.

I’m supposed to redo mine next Thursday. How soon before do they cancel on you? Curious if it’ll happen to me

So they just rescheduled me for a month away now ugh. No longer next Thursday but end of June. They explained why though. They said lab services for bloodwork is currently suspended so because our medical requires lab work can not complete. They are hoping it is up by the end of June.

I'm taking the exam tomorrow. Are you notified of the results immediately or is it a few weeks to get them?

You won’t be notified of results at all. If you passed and move on you get a call for an interview.
