Curious, is booze allowed in the dorms? Not like throwing a party, but I enjoy a good nightcap

How often are you in business casual attire? I plan on taking 2 suits and 4 dress shirts for business attire, but wondering if 1 pair of khaki pants and 1 or 2 polos would be enough for business casual...

Also, I'm certain I'll have to wear long-sleeved undershirts because I have tattoos, are there any restrictions on what kind of fabric/brand it has to be?

I disagree. It’s a bliss and probably saved numerous NATs from doing stupid things, trust me.

Are you able to have someone (family/spouse) help you with moving in once you start at Quantico?

No they won’t. NATs from one class earlier will be there to greet you and help you with moving in if needed.

You only dress up in a suit for like the first 4 days and business casual for the trip to New York and the MLK and Holocaust museum and that’s it. So I think that is a total of 6 days of dressing nice for your entire academy experience. Don’t bring too much nice clothes bc 95% of what you will wear is what they provide you at Quantico.

I believe in past years there have been 5 each year with a start every other month, beginning in January. So, January, March, May, July, September.

I think it was last year that an additional class was added in October.

Anyone have insight regarding sizing on the issued uniform items at Q? Do they run big/small/true to size?

The dining hall works as follows:
-Buffet “bar”:

breakfast - oatmeal, cereal, fruits, yogurt, bagels, bread, bacon, eggs

Lunch - basically like a salad and sandwich bar

-main station: breakfast, lunch, dinner main full meal of the day.

For breakfast i can’t remember, but I think like omelette, pancakes, etc.

For lunch and dinner it’s like the meal of the day. So like some protein, starch, veggie. Something different every day.

Other stations:

There’s another mini station that comes on I think at lunch and dinner. That will do like smaller entree options. For example, something like ramen. But not like college ramen, more like pick your meat, veggies, broth, etc.

Chicken sandwich, burger, hot dog, pizza, pasta station. Always has those main stays.

Dessert:

Usually a full dessert spread. Brownies, cookies, cakes, bars, endless options.

Drink station:

Coffee, tea, water, soda, Gatorade, sometimes they mix protein smoothies (well they call them protein smoothies but it’s like 3g protein).

Fresh fruit, other than what’s at the salad bar: apples, bananas, oranges.

Saturday’s are steak saturdays.

Weekends they have donuts.

After the dining hall closes you can order food from the campus bar. But you gotta pay.

There’s a Starbucks near the classrooms. Well, they serve Starbucks coffee and chilled drinks.

I think that mostly covers it.

No dessert station?!??!

You may want to defer your start date until this restriction is lifted.

Does the FBI offer any kind of relocation assistance when reporting to your first FO or are you on your own?

Depends if you are onboard or military etc....they will provide you with a full cost move, so that includes things like shipping your car, pack your house up for the moving truck, house hunting trips , there might be more but I can’t remember.

If you are new to government service they’ll provide you with the moving truck and they’ll help you pack your stuff and I believe that’s about it.

I'm reserves but have never had to PCS or anything like that. Do they just give you a stipend to get all this stuff done, or are you putting in requests and then they provide you with the items/services?
Thanks for the help!

They will put you in contact with a moving company who will take care of everything related to moving your stuff. They will also pay for you to travel from your home to your new duty station. That's about it unless you were a fed before joining the bureau.

You get used to the quarantine. Everyone, including the staff do what they can to make it more comfortable for us.

If you have more specific questions I can try to answer.

I assume you are able to get everything you need on base and you can receive packages from Amazon, etc.?
