Social Security Administration
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is an independent agency of the United States federal government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of retirement, disability, and survivors' benefits. To qualify for these benefits, most American workers pay Social Security taxes on their earnings; future benefits are based on the employees' contributions. (Source: Wikipedia)

Seems to me this should have been brought up when you were given your EOD. Or, if this "Cannot miss" event was scheduled in the interim, you should have contacted your new supervisor immediatley. This should not be an issue.

1. contact somebody and let them know you need to reschedule; or 2. cancel the other thing; or 3. just skip it and pretend nobody told you.
I’d probably try #1 or #2 but that is just me.
