For the listing I have the experience and I was awarded CPS preference. Afterwards I was referred to hiring manager. It’s been 3 weeks since then and I’m curious to know if Covid has affected HUD’s hiring process. Anyone recently hired by HUD or recently referred?

I have personal knowledge that HUD is continue to onboard personnel.
IMO there's no freeze as a result of Covid-19.
I have personal knowledge that the following agencies which has not missed a step in regards to the hiring process:
HUD DHS CBP EPA VA
My hiring process applied March 2020, telephone interview April 2020, virtual 2nd interview May 2020, on-boarding May 2020, on the job June 2020.
It's possible, also note if the position required you be cleared regardless of level the timeline may extend out.
I also applied for 41 other positions, so keep applying, let us know how it turn out.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I don’t know if I have it in me to apply 40 more times lol so I’m hoping I’m 1 and done. I’ll follow back up.

There are some freezes in hiring....
For example in VHA direct patient care jobs are readily announced. Pure admin jobs have to go through a bunch of hoops to get announced. In my lower office at HQ the VHA head has to clear all positions before being out there.
In other agencies...jobs thst are designed around customer in person interaction are not getting announced. Some other jobs are being held because of other budget issues.

Thanks RealtyGuy for posting this question. I wondered the same, seeking information on a personnel security specialist position that closed January 11, 2021, and the certificate of eligibles expire February 22, 2021.

The new Administration is really focus on getting more money for HUD which will allow for the continuance of hiring new personnel in all areas of HUD due to drastic personnel cuts of the last decade. They have also stated that they are in talks with the powers that be to shorten the hiring process so that personnel can onboard within a few months of getting the Referral to the actual EOD. I have seen first hand how quickly a job has been posted to seeing the personnel onboard, its been a very quick turn around compare to other Agencies.
