Hi All:

Was out of the office for a part of last week and found out from one of my references that FDIC called about a position. The reference didn’t get a name. This is kind of weird to me, as I haven’t been contacted for an interview as of yet. Has anyone heard of agencies doing it this way?

I have heard of this happening at some agencies where they hire candidates and the actual “interview” isn’t completed until later on after the job is accepted and started. Do you mind sharing the position? I have had several status changes in the position I applied for and I figured someone has to be reviewing my application. I do not recall listing references.

Wow, that’s the first time I’ve heard of this. Usually references are called after the interview and before the offer, assuming the reference checks went well.
