I can't even begin to guess. Feels like everything is play it by ear these days. But maybe? |

To weigh in on academy dates, I was just over on the Special Agent thread, where NeverQuit posted:
"Also, just passing on some additional info for everyone, my wife is a current FBI employee (admin) and has been told by several current agents that the next class after August, class 21-01 will in fact be November 15. The FBI fiscal year actually starts over in October so that’s why it starts with 21." |

Possibly ignorant question: Are Q start dates the same for both NATS and NIATS? I kinda thought they were separate with some overlap in classes, but I can't point to any info indicating that. |

Had a date change on my dashboard last week. Did anybody else get one? I'm from the 2017 posting; still waiting to be cleared.
Also, anybody hear anything about future classes to close out FY20 or to begin FY21?

Unfortunately, it wasn't accompanied by any formal updates, but as it has been about 2 months since my last date change, I'm viewing this as a sign that things are still heading in the right direction. I cannot imagine how frustrated you must be having been here since 2017. I'm fast approaching the two year mark myself and it can be a struggle to keep a positive attitude when you keep seeing other people get to the finish line before you even though they applied well after you did. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them, but it's difficult not to feel anything but left behind. Have you reached out to your AC to find out what this latest date change means for you? Originally Posted by: WaitingIsTheHardestPart I heard the next BFTC is December from someone in HR. Seems that way given that NeverQuit just got the same info after being cleared (they had previously said that their wife was told there would be a November 15 class). Have you had any updates since you were last invited to that one BFTC? Gotcha. Definitely better than the alternative and no date change. It has to be heading in the right direction then. As for the second part, you basically have hit the nail on the head with that one. I'm thrilled for people I know getting their shot, but admittedly, it has been tough to keep that steady mindset while I wait for mine. That said, as long as it all works out in the end, it'll all be worth it in my eyes. Everything happens for a reason, right? I did, but no update yet. I'll follow up should that change in the coming days/weeks.

Nope, no updates. Just the initial "invite" making sure I was available then a second email asking if I'd be available with short notice. Then nothing. It's very frustrating as, like you, I am now at the 2 year mark. And about to be past my 1 year poly mark as well. Also, in my most recent email where I asked when the next class would be, the person made it clear "only if you're selected" would I be going to that class. Seemed strange, as I thought I had already been "selected" with the August class email. I can't be too upset, at least I have a job (would rather have this job obviously) but it's quite surprising to me that they expect people to just wait around for their golden ticket essentially and then expect them to drop everything. It's a frustrating process for sure.

Just curious..has anyone that has contacted an AC or HR rep about BI been told anything other than still in investigation...like, adjudication, etc?
Last update for me was January. References/employer contacted in March. Silence since. Decided to shoot an email today. Got a quick response saying my case is still open and I'm still in the investigative process. Wasn't expecting an in-depth response, but was hoping for something a little more informative. Good news is at least I haven't been disqualified for anything. |

At that point your information is divvied up to multiple people looking into various aspects of your life, and it’s just a matter of them getting all that info to I believe HQ for it to be put together and reviewed. It’s been radio silence for me since the end of February when I had some people contacted. |

Yeah, that's about what I figured. I thinking of a reason (other than covid) that BIs seem to have gotten longer for a bunch of ppl. If anyone said that they received something else from their AC, it would disprove my 'theory'. |

Based on the Intelligence Analyst Selection Process packet, it can take 6-18 months so I just keep expectations low and will let myself be pleasantly surprised if I’m contacted before that 18 month mark haha. |

Given how quiet the thread has been, it seems like a lot of us are stuck in different holding patterns and waiting for something to happen... I had a date change on the 9/3/20 prior to that I hadn't heard anything since December. Hopefully thats a sign im heading in the right direction. My contacts were reached out to in May.

Got my December letter this morning. It was a selection letter (like I originally got for the May class back in March) and not an availability letter that I got for August, so things are looking up again! |
