Currently GS-7, have been so for 19 months.

Applied and been referred for GS-9, NTE 1 year position.

Because this is an NTE position, I have some questions I would like answered. I have asked the contact in the job announcement these same questions, but thought I would ask here as well.

I am currently tenure Career Permanent.

If I accept this position, will I retain my Permanent Tenure, Competitive Service status?

Will I continue to earn creditable service towards FERS?

Will I still be eligible for internal job announcements?

And will I continue to be eligible for participation in the TSP?

FEGLI?

FEHB?

FSAFEDS?

Thanks for any insight from the HR folks on here.

"NTE 1 year" sounds like a temporary "Temp" position. As such you would not be eligible to participate in FERS or accumulate credit. However if that reference you cite is applicable then I guess you could recover that year of credit ASSUMING you got right back into a qualifying position.

I don't think you can do TSP either. But you would be eligible for FEHB.

PS I couldn't find B (3) iv as it is tricky to follow the numbering but I think this is the bit you are talking about:

(iv) Intervening service. Certain types of service that ordinarily are not creditable are counted when they intervene between two periods of creditable service. Under these conditions, credit each period of service:

(B) Under temporary, term, or other nonpermanent employment in the Federal competitive service
