Part-time permanent employees vs. Full-time permanent employees
What is the FEHB difference for them BEFORE retirement? I guess part-time employees will pay more out of pocket since government contributes less for part-time employees.
What is the FEHB difference for them AFTER retirement?
Thanks.

A part-time employee has the government FEHB contribution reduced based on the hours they work: "The amount of the Government contribution is determined by dividing the number of hours you are scheduled to work during the pay period by the number of hours worked by a full-time employee serving in the same or comparable position (normally 80 hours per biweekly pay period). That percentage is then applied to the Government contribution made for full-time employees enrolled in that plan. The amount of the Government contribution is then deducted from the total premium (Government plus employee shares), and the remaining amount is withheld from your pay." https://www.opm.gov/FAQs...8-4bb2-a066-17cd68d4a307After retirement, all eligible annuitants, whether retired from full- or part-time service, receive the full government contribution. A retired part-time employee, then, will see their premium go down in retirement.

While employed, a part-time employee pays more than a full-time employee for FEHB because the government contribution is smaller.
Once retired, a former part-time employee and a former full-time employee pay the same FEHB premium because the government contribution is identical.

It depends on the agency. Part time TSA employees pay the same amount as full time TSA employees.
