July 2018: Submitted Online Introductory Technical Interview

September 2018: Submitted SF-86
February 2019: Submitted additional info for SF-86
March 2019: Contact from recruiter saying initial review of SF-86 has begun
September 2019: Emailed additional requests for security processing
November 2019: Met with BI, references contacted.
December 2020: Email saying I'm active in the suitability process (not sure if that's really an update)

Got my FJO last month. Thanks to everyone here that helped me get through this long process! My EOD is scheduled for a couple months out.

Anyone else get this? The email I received says "This could be due to a variety of reasons including interview, testing, initial screening, qualifications, and/or the job opening has been filled/discontinued. This does not close you out for consideration for other positions. You are welcome and encouraged to continue to apply to positions on www.intelligencecareers.gov/nsa that interest you, and continue to update your resume as needed."

After talking with my recruiter over the phone, it's most likely not the interview (I got a CJO), testing, or initial screening (wouldn't have made it this far if it was initial screening), so it's either the qualifications changed or the job filled up. I don't think the job filled up because the language in the email is different, as they usually spread your resume around. I was told it's not a security/suitability issue. Also, it's not a drug issue because I was not told that I'd have to wait a year before reapplying. This was also confirmed by my recruiter, who said that I can reapply anytime and my adjudication would just pick up where it left off.

My recruiter said they'd try to send over the hiring manager's contact info for me to talk to because only they would have the full answer.

Jedi master Obi-wan, you need to significantly adjust your expectations regarding timeliness and responsiveness with NSA. You got a verbal offer. You will get a written eventually.

Put this job in the far recesses of your mind - you’ll be a lot happier trust me. Look at it as plan G, not A B or C.

If I sound jaded maybe it’s because I’m going on three years now, still waiting on poly and medical, coming from someone who already had a TS/SCI and full scope and even worked at the darn place before. I miss the days when I thought waiting a month for the next step to take place was a long time. ;)

Is it worth applying for the coop again? The registration is starting up in a few weeks and I have had two CJO for the position but got HR denials for both with the same copy and paste response. Reason I am asking is my dream is to work for the NSA, CIA, or FBI and the closest I have got is with NSA with 2 offers but they don't go anywhere. I have not even spoke to a investigator in my 7 months of processing last year. I am wondering if I should give up on student positions and wait a year and a half when I am close to graduation and then apply for a full time position Here is my timeline.

4/9/2020 Email stating that my program will continue but will be a pause in investigation.
4/13/2020 confirmation that my investigation is on hold till the covid 19 situation clears up. But they said they are still doing back end stuff.
7/6/2020 Processing will not continue because of "Due to your affiliation with non-U.S. citizens and/or foreign travel" they stated since it is a student position it will take to long to process.

Never met the investigator, references have never been contacted. the part I do not understand, they knew from the beginning i was born in a different country (ally country), of course I have foreign associations (none of has any criminal background at all) yet it took them 16 months to crash my dream.

From application to CJO you were really moving fast... since then, well, they've more than made up for it.

Seems like just getting scheduled for the poly is a major milestone with these guys.

I recently got an email to schedule the three assessments as well. However, it's been hard finding days to schedule them.
