I just mailed my retirement papers to HR but I’m not clear what happens now. Will they notify me that my papers are all in order? How do they contact you, by mail?email?

When you did your on the clock phone inteview with OPM they told you just what papers to send and how to contact them. It should still be the normal OPM number and you need to ask for your rep. that did your page by page interview. But others can help. If you did something wrong you will be contacted. It runs very smoothly, so long as you have no added issues. owe money need to pay back SL have had more than 80's or more off in a single year! Been divorsed after being married more than 10 years. And they will allow you to retirer with no benifit should you have left too early,or missed the date by a week or month!

Average processing time for 2020 was 72 days (from receipt of papers to final adjudication). Current backlog is just under 20k.

Wow! 72 days! Thanks for the heads-up.
I guess that's about right, though. Social Security suggests you start your retirement paperwork three months in advance. |
We decide which is right; and which is an illusion. I've got blisters on me fingers! |
