Last week our PM asked by a show of hands, who would get the COVID vaccine. Most people raised their hands and he then suggested that when the vaccine became available we would be notified as to when and where we could get our vaccination. I’m just wondering if anyone else has heard anything about a national effort to vaccinate postal workers. Are there any postal workers out there that have received their vaccination yet? I hear on the news that we are just below first responders but no info on how to get the shot.

Very little info being given about when. Even less about where. I find it interesting that your PM asked how many were considering it. Not many here are that interested.

It's going to vary greatly on a state-by-state basis. The CDC recommendations are just a guideline.
I'll get it today if they let me.

In Phoenix (Glendale), they will be running a 24-hour vax schedule at University of Phoenix Stadium, where the Cardinals play.

Postal employees here are designated 1B, just below medical types and the like.

You go to the county website, sign up, provide some kind of proof that you are who and what you say you are, and then make appointment for the shot.

Our AM supervisor did that. It's a 2-week wait, and his appointment is at 11pm on the 24th.

The county says it can do 6,000 shots a day. At that pace, the entire population of Maricopa County will be vaxxed (except for me) in about 2 years.

Good thing this isn't a life-or-death situation.
We decide which is right; and which is an illusion. I've got blisters on me fingers!

The doses will pick up the pace as production ramps up. Between the two approved vaccines, we should have enough doses for 200m people by the end of June, which would probably be enough for everyone who wants them. J&J has a promising vaccine that could be approved next month and would deliver another 100m doses by end of June. Once CVS, WalMart and other pharmacies and doctors offices can give them out unrestricted, the pace will pick up dramatically.
