I can't claim to be an "insider" or have any inside info, but that never stops me. Anyway, I looked at the posting and noticed it is not in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) but in Diplomatic Security (DS) and it seems to be focused on threats to diplomatic facilities and the US personnel working there. They do have a worldwide mission and deal with a lot of different agencies, although I do not know what this job might involve on a daily basis. Hope that helps, although it is not much more than what is in the job description |

I hope somebody chimes in as well, I was not aware that DS also had intel analysts. Have you visited the forums at careers.state.gov? The moderators say practically nothing of interest but sometimes people will add some good info. |

I was just referred to this posting, was hoping to get more info too. This one I imagine is going to be a bit of a stretch, but I know I'd enjoy it if selected. Anyone else apply?

I was tracking those a couple years back and it seemed like they were few and far between. Also, as I recall, they were very specific, almost like they were looking for internal candidates... they didn't seem to have general entry-level positions.
I have since met some folks who worked there in the past as contractors... wonder if that is how to get the inside track? |
