If a carrier is on the 8hr non otdl and have use an hour of overtime every week on their route is that considered being forced (not on assignment only).

National Arbitrator Mittenthal ruled in H4N-NA-C-21, April 11, 1986 (C-05860), that an employee on the ODL does not have the option of accepting or refusing work over eight hours on a non-scheduled day, work over six days in a service week or overtime on more than four of the five scheduled days in a service week; instead an employee on the ODL must be required to work up to 12 hours in a day and 60 hours in a week before management may require employees not on the ODL to work overtime. Arbitrator Mittenthal’s award does not extend to situations involving a letter carrier working on his or her own route on a regularly scheduled day (See the discussion under 8.5.C.2.d and 8.5.G).

You are quoting the wrong information. Why don't you do a search on "Letter carrier paragraph" in Article 8. Then, come back to post the correct information. |

So I am not considered being forced every week if I’m on the 8hr only list if it’s my own route when management doesn’t have coverage. ( they 100 percent do but we won’t talk about that.)

( they 100 percent do but we won’t talk about that.) Definition of forced 1: compelled by force or necessity : INVOLUNTARY Definition of volunteer 1: a person who voluntarily undertakes or expresses a willingness to undertake a service: Definition of voluntary 1: proceeding from the will or from one's own choice or consent _------------------ It doesn't matter if you are forced or volunteer. There is a pecking order to OT. As a "8 only" carrier, notify you steward every time you work OT. They need to pull the clock rings for all the OTDL and CCA to make sure they worked 10 hours. Can someone keep a running list of who is who? Everyone has two accounts and keep changing usernames I can't keep up with all the backstories. I wish I signed up years ago I would know better. Being new just this year is tough.

I just found this place in Jan 2021 After communicating with an admin they track your IP address to make sure you only have one log in. I am confused about all the name calling that goes on here. |

So far they seem to simply ignore the outrageous behavior and allow people to fight and feud without actually contributing anything to discussions about our work place. Sure we'll wander off topic from time to time, I unfortunately have a couple of times. But I'd really prefer to see this forum get rid of all the silly feuding and return to discussing the USPS and at times other interesting topics.
