After much perseverance and patience I can finally post my timeline...

As you can see anything is possible when it comes to getting hired for the federal government. I thought I was long removed from consideration for my position and then out of nowhere I get a tentative offer of employment. I like many of you lost hope for a long time, but if your application status in usajobs still says received there is still hope. Sometimes they hire someone instead of you and for one reason or another it doesn't work out for that person then they go down the list of other candidates. Good luck to all of you!

Finally can post my timeline here, as it has been a journey.

Opportunity: Analyst position, State Department, GS-12 located in D.C., promotion potential to GS-13
My background: New to government service, non-vet, have never held a clearance, coming from 12+ years in private sector (not including experience from HS & college)

Note that I was able to obtain step 10 as my incoming step, via a SQM + paystubs from my current job. The role itself is fairly specialized and aligns well with my experience and skillset, so least to say I am excited to serve, and be involved with a mission that aligns both personally & professionally.

I come from a multi-disciplinary background in social sciences (qualitative/quantitative research), public affairs/communications science, project management, product development and other skills. So I was applying across various job groups (0100, 0300, 1000, 1100).
