"Pending" meaning it is still in progress or not yet started?

The investigator said he submitted it to Suitability last August or so. I guess it's just with them now. Good question.

Got the "Thanks but no thanks" email today. 3 1/2 years and no job. They did not provide any other details besides the face that I'm not barred from any future employment with the government. This is a tough pill to swallow. Thanks for keeping me company over the years...it helped a great deal.Best of luck.

Oh no! I’m sorry that’s rough. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

This is the 4th time I see this happen to other applicants. Why would the invest in an applicant to the point of paying for a background investigation only to tell them "thanks but no thanks" for no reason? Could it be that when you get to the board, they evaluate you compared to others and if you don't make the cut that's when they let you go? Wouldn't it make sense that if they extend a conditional job offer that you are qualified and wanted by the agency based on your resume, scores, etc at that point? Why make that determination till the end? Unless ofcourse you have something pop up in your background then that's reason enough to let you go.. but from what I've heard on here, it seems to be that the background is clean and they just tell them bye for no reason... which leads me back to believe that maybe when it's time to select those going forward the board that meets just didn't rank you high enough?? Thoughts ???

I've reached out so I'm sure they will respond at some point. My guess is that they can afford to be picky and I didn't size up. Is what it is but the lack of detail is a bit frustrating.

I would agree with you on the lack of details. It could be an explanation that is more fitting to be discussed one-on-one (even in an email), and you just got that generic "Dear John" email as the official notification. Just guessing here though. I've been waiting the same amount of time you have, so I can understand the overall frustration as well with waiting and then zero explanation.

I hope you get answers. I know at least one other candidate who went through the same and reached out. I am not sure if they got their answer or not. I suspect it’s one of two things. Either like you said didn’t size up based on the rest of the pool or something came up in background for your suitability. Good luck and hope you get some closure or answers.

Good Morning,

I received an email late yesterday afternoon asking me for my references (again) in order to continue the "accelerated pre-employment check for an interim clearance". I think that's about the 3rd time I've sent them. LOL It's all good though. Got them sent off shortly after getting the email.

Y'all have a great day!

How long after receiving fingerprint email did it take for you to actually get fingerprinted? It's been 2 weeks for me and still nothing

They must have changed it up since my applicant group (2017). We were fingerprinted at the interview.

I was offered to do my fingerprints and told that I could get them done any time during business hours. So, I picked a day and a time and the person told me that they would make sure that someone would be there to do my fingerprints.

Same here, but I guess that's hard to do now when these guys are doing video interviews.

Congrats on the preference sheet.

What's your timeline been?

How much did the "accelerated" background investigation speed things up? I have a recent T5 BI from OPM so trying to figure out what to expect.
