Hope this is the correct area to post this question and hopefully it was not asked before.

If an individual previously served 20 months of a 2 year probationary period in an Department of Defense competitive position but quit the job due to health reasons (needed 6 months for treatment), are they able to apply to positions on USAJOBS that indicate the position is for Federal employees - Competitive service Current or former competitive service federal employees?

Also, will the person need to serve another probation period in a non-DOD position?

Question 1 yes you should meet that criteria to apply.

Question 2 probation is up to the gaining organization.

I don’t think you can apply to jobs open to federal because you didn’t earn tenure of 3yrs and you aren’t a current fed
