Congratulations on your interview and I hope you get hired!

Thanks for sharing this information.

Is it possible for you to answer the following questions for the sake of others who applied under the same announcement?

Was this for external announcement, 20PHI-SBX0445-0526-5T9, that closed on 06/19/2020, or did you also apply for an internal announcement?

Were you working for the IRS or another federal agency when it closed?

Was this for a position in the state on your profile, Utah?

I don't have the specific knowledge or copy of the OPM law as to how long agencies have to hire from announcements before they expire, IF, they expire.

I was assuming, (not stating as a fact), that hiring for 20PHI-SBX0445-0526-5T9 had ended, that they only hired internals or active federal employees, and the announcement had expired for hiring purposes. I thought that was the reason for the new external announcement for TCOs that closed 03/15/2021...

I applied for both the older one, (was interviewed in November), and the most recent one. Hoping they are still hiring for the older one but fine if they are not and they proceed with the most recent.

Thank You,

Nick

Yes! Me too!

I woke up and saw that email. It was sent/received at 1:30am.

I was informed on that email that don't have to take this Tax Compliance Officer assessment because I had taken it for the previous announcement.

I wish everyone taking it the best!

Things are moving! Good News!

Hello -
I received an email to take the TCO assessment. . . .Can someone give me a day in the life of a compliance officer? (Pre and present COVID)? I currently work collections on the phone and I dont know how I feel about possibly conducting in person interviews? TIA!

I don't think they are doing anything face to face until after this fiscal year, and maybe into next.

Hello,
I had an interview for the TCO position about 2weeks ago, and I am wondering about the result now.
If I get selected to hire, what is the next step would be...?
When usually get notified of what's the next step after finishing the position interview??
If someone can answer these questions please, thank you! :)

Congratulations on getting an interview, rmbr!

The next step would be to receive a Tentative Officer if you are selected.

That can take as little as one to many weeks. Be patient, there is time for you to be selected.

Wish you the best!

Can you share with us from what announcement they interviewed you? Was it from the TCO External Announcement from 2020?

Thanks,

Nick

Wow! That Announcement, 20PHI-SBX0445-0526-5T9, closed on 06/19/2020 and they're still hiring from there... That is so unusual.

I hope it's a good thing for you and others.

Yes.

I applied for the RO, TCO, and Bankruptcy Specialist. I would prefer the RO, I did it before, but will take any of the other 2 to get back with the IRS.

If you're getting interviews you're very likely to get it.

I wish you the best!

Let us know how it goes.

Good luck on your applications! I finally received an update on my RO application, so we'll see how that goes.

As for my TCO application, I've done 4 interviews so far and I have another one scheduled tomorrow morning. The interviews have not been stressful at all.

Just to provide more info to the thread...

I applied to announcement 20PHI-SBX0445-0526-5T9, interviewed in March 2021 and recently got a TO for a Tax Specialist this week with an EOD in July. I am an external applicant. This would be a dream come true for me so I'm really hoping I get an FO soon. Any ideas on the timeline? Also, if anyone can chime in on what the job is like I'd love to hear it!

The firm offer usually comes after your initial background check. Usually about 3 weeks, but could be more depending on HR.

Congratulations

I applied to the same announcement 20PHI-SBX0445-0526-5T9, interviewed in April 2021 and recently got a Tentative Job Offer for the same position. I also heard the first day of the duty will be in the middle of July 2021. I am an external too. I finished the finger print and photo for ID. Looking forward to getting a Firm Offer soon! :) It has been for a whole year since I applied this announcement and the position. But if I think about the initial attempting to get a job in the IRS was since 2018, so it really has been passed for 3 years all together.

Did anyone's TCO or IRA application get updated online? My TCO application (21CIN-SBX0260-0526-5T9) just got updated to "received application". I was hoping to go forward especially since I have already taken the assessment :-p. I guess its a waiting game from what I understand.

My status changed from TCO Assessment scheduled to Application received. Don't know what it means, I have a referral for the RO position, but haven't been interviewed as of yet.

Here's to hoping.
