Hello all,

GS employee since May 2017 working for the USMC. Recently interviewed and received a TJO for a grade promotion to another federal agency.

After researching i have found conflicting information and asking your help.

Again, the new position is a grade promotion. My current office/supervisor has no idea that i've been applying and have taken interviews...so they have no idea that i'm about to tell them I've received a TJO and will be leaving.

Should i have been telling them all along? Do i now tell them Monday morning? Do i record my acceptance via the USA Staffing portal and then wait for a Firm Offer?

Thank you all for any assistance. Sorry to sound like a newb.

I’d recommend completing the acceptance, if that is your intention, and certainly let your supervisor know what was going on - unless there is some reason not to. Not much a supervisor can do and they will find out eventually.
The excuse of, "I read it on FederalSoup..." won't work. Please do your due diligence.

Since it's only a tentative offer I would hold off telling supervisor. I've seen many TO's fall thru and besides he/she will find out anyway once the 2 HR's get involved.

Yes. Nothing's real til there's a final offer.
