I recently started a new role as a GS14, but have been given an offer for a GS15. I have only been a 14 for a little less than 2 months. The application for the 15 was done prior to the FJO for the 14, the announcement was open to the public, no sf50 was given, didn’t claim merit promotion, resume for obvious reasons did not have any mention of the 14 or anything like that. Still debating on accepting the offer because I’ll be an A-hole leaving after only 2 months, but want to at least know my options. Can I jump to the 15 if I choose to accept the offer? Not familiar with the competitive service side of things.

You qualified for the 15 based on outside experience, so there should not be any issues with accepting the offer. I wouldn’t worry about hurt feelings for accepting a higher position shortly after onboarding if that’s the direction you want your career to go.

The only issue I would see to consider is you may be subject to a probation period due to this being an open to all announcement and so have to weigh that risk.
You should have voted Cthulu...the greatest of all Evils
