I have been employed with the Fed govt for over 12 years and have luckily never been in a position where this has been a concern and I can't find it in the search, so I am going to ask here.

I have a compressed schedule and this holiday season, the three big holidays of the winter fall within my current TOD. If I HAVE to work, will I get holiday pay and ALSO get an in lieu of day off like I would if the holiday fell on one of my days off?

I can find documentation that I am entitled to the in lieu of if the holiday falls on one of my regular days off (for information, my TOD is Wed-Sat) and a lot of holidays fall on Mondays, so that grants me an in lieu of day. But I can't find the information about not being able to take the holiday because of my work requirements (I work in a residential 24/7 treatment facility) and how that works for being granted a day off. Others in my office say you don't get holiday pay and an in lieu of day because that's "double dipping" and I disagree, as I am granted so many federal holidays as a benefit and if I have to work, I should definitely get paid for it as well.

Please clear my confusion.
