FYI -

Completed application for FCIP program May 15th, interviewed June 24th, verbal offer July 28th. Currently in the process of background check. Start date September 14th.

Background 17 years experience, CPA, Master In Tax, 5 years big 4, 13 years public accounting experience. Was unemployed when I received offer so no opportunity for a salary match. Going in at GS-9, step 1 in accordance with their policy. GS-11 after one year and will be able to compete for other positions at the end of 2nd year.

I have been applying for a position with the IRS since April on usejobs.gov

I went into USAjobs.gov and received correspondence from the IRS. I will find out how to obtain the FCIP information.

Hi RST,

Congtats!

I got a verbal offer for FCIP on July 28 but still waiting for the email TO. So if everything goes smootly, we will be in the same start class. My offer is also for Grade 9. You made a point about jumping to Grade 11 after one year. I heard about the Grade system, each Grade has 10 Steps. From step 1 to 4, it takes one year for each, from 5 to 7, 2 years each and from 8 to 10 is three year for each. Is that true?

Thank you and congrats again.

coinkuhdink,

I am very sad for you, but keep up the hope. Your turn will come, just a matter of time. I do think so.

Best wishes

I applied through FCIP as well. I fingerprinted Monday (8/10) and awaiting my results. Got my UPS package and waiting for my final transcript to finish my "10 Day packet". Had contact from my future supervisor which gave great details about the next couple months.

I received a call from my mentor but he was telling me that he did not know anything as of yet. For those who have received offers, how much longer am I in the que. I know that it is all relative. I applied back in March...went to Philly in April and I was told that they were trying for Sept. I know there are two classes in Sept. and I heard 1 in Oct. Also, was it easy to get your pick office?

Any comments would be helpful and grateful. Congrats!
